Attention Green Day fans! We need your help in spreading the word about the upcoming charity single release of Wootton Bassett Rocks cover of Green Day's Wake Me Up When September Ends. The good people leading this project, which aims to raise £1million to aid military charities that support fallen and returning war heroes in England, have kindly sent us the link to their as yet unreleased music video and song.

You can also help by donating to the charity at JustGiving.com

This is a really great project, for a cause that people all over the world can relate to at this time where war and conflict unfortunately has a dominant place in our lives. By getting behind Wootton Bassett Rocks, we can help to take steps towards helping the people directly affected by such events.

They just showed this on the ITV1 news, and I hadn't heard it before then. It sounds like a really good idea and it's getting a lot of exposure which is good.

Isn't it raising money for some form of military charity? I'm on the fence about actually supporting that but regardless, the video is well organized, very well timed and above all it is so heartwarming. I love that pretty much the entire community is out in support of this. It kinda reminds me of The Simpsons, where the same characters in Springfield are out all the time in their stereotypical roles, which makes it such a joy I hope this gets the media coverage and fame it deserves, I can't imagine the amount of work that must have went into it.

Another thing I love is that a lot of the people in the video, judging by their age/dress sense etc would have never listened to Green Day otherwise, and now had to learn and discover how great a song WMUWSE is! Hopefully a few people were converted into GD fans in the process

Stephen, the charities are all for soldiers returning home from war, rather than supporting war, of course. I see it as a good cause because of the former.

Tony, I've copied this onto Nova Facebook as we have around 1300 GD fans/music peeps on there I thought it might help a little bit, also copied the new vid link, great cause and the people of Wootten Bassett are just amazing and should be commended, they also deserve their new town title of 'Royal Wootten Bassett' soon to be given to them by the Queen.
