Fuzz Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 GDA is auctioning off this awesome mini-blue guitar ornament handmade by a GDCer, Tripe, with 100% of the proceeds going to the American Red Cross. Check out the auction on eBay.
Trotsky Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 If it were a wunderbaum or could otherwise make my car smell good I'd buy it.
Fuzz Posted November 4, 2011 Author Posted November 4, 2011 If it were a wunderbaum or could otherwise make my car smell good I'd buy it. Dip it in some cologne.
Elena Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 OMG i wanna have that !! but my parents will never allow that ...although it's for the american red cross
Mary711 Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Wow, Tripe! That's awesome. It's so detailed!

KilljoyFromDetroit Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 That so cool!!! Wish i could have it
Jaymee!! Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 As always, AMAZING job Dorie! How long does it take you to make one from start to finish?
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Oh wow, it's amazing! Great that you're auctioning it for a good cause, too.
greendaytone Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 It's up to over $60 already. Damn right too, they're awesome Dorie! edit: over $100!!
Hermione Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I love your mini Blues Dorie! The precision and attention to detail is amazing. What a lovely idea to auction one for charity. Glad to see it's well on it's way to raising a nice amount already!
lizziebix Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Fantastic. But $112.50 is a bit over my budget for ornaments (or even charity donations). Certainly hope it sells at a really high price now that I can't afford it! Really quite a lovely piece, Dorie. You're amazing. (certainly wish there could be one hanging on my tree!)
alaniluau Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Your art is incredibly intricate. As someone who can barely draw a stick figure, it's especially admirable. I hope the bids continue to go up.
secondGuessMe Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I I had a job, I would bid on this. love it!
Tripe Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 As always, AMAZING job Dorie! How long does it take you to make one from start to finish? Thanks for all the nice comments! Jaymee, the first one I ever made took quite awhile since I did a lot of experimenting to get the stickers sized properly and get the colors just right. Now that I know what I'm doing, it's much faster. I worked on it here and there whenever I got some time in the evenings and stuff. If I sat down and worked on one nonstop, I could get it done in a day or so. The handpainting is the most grueling part and makes me squint the most, LOL.
lizziebix Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 What do you normally charge for one, to a "direct customer" without the ebay/charity bit involved? You can PM me if you don't want to say it out loud here!
beejeezee Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Shit that's gorgeous. I don't have any money though
Guest Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 Wow, that is just incredible! You are very talented.

Stormy Haze Posted November 4, 2011 Posted November 4, 2011 I can't afford it, but I'd bid on it if I could. That is absolutely amazing! And I love that the proceeds are going to be donated
