. n i m r o d Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I bet there is a topic for things like this, but with 113 pages.. it would take me forever to find it xD Basically, in this topic I will be giving my top 20 favorite Green Day songs and giving in-depth detail as to why they are my favorite. In this topic, feedback or any related replies would be cool, as I'm sure there are a ton of differing opinions as to what are your own favorite Green Day songs. Feel free to post your top 20 (if you're bored like me). If there is a topic that I am not seeing, I apologize for making this and you may redirect me to the appropriate topic. Without further adieu, I will start this off: 10: King for a Day (Nimrod): For me, this is the most upbeat song Green Day has put out. When I hear it, I cannot help but to smile and sing along to the word. Even though embedded within its pop sound and catchy tone, the lyrics are actually rather serious and addresses a serious topic (at least, I think so), but is done in such a clever way. I can tell from live performances that the band (and Billie specifically) love playing this live, as they get so into it. Just a great song! 9: No One Knows (Kerplunk): A huge contrast to King for a Day, I feel this song is one of the most somber songs the band has put out. A very enticing Mike Dirnt bass line that introduces us to a slow tempo, eventually turns into a loud, yet slow guitar from Billie Joe and very sad singing. The lyrics make this song one of my favorites, especially the chorus. "Call me irresponsible. Call me habitual. But when you think of me, do you think of schemes? Well think again, 'cause no one knows". Just outstanding. This was one of the first songs by Green Day that I learned on guitar and I play it at least twice a day, only for me, I play it acoustically. I don't know, just has that vibe. Easily one of the best and favorite Green Day songs for me, and one of my favorite songs of all time. 8: Tight Wad Hill (Insomniac): Insomniac is actually one of my favorite Green Day albums. It was easily the heaviest album they have put out, and for good measure. Tight Wad Hill gives me shivers down my spine, just like Bohemian Rhapsody (thank you for anyone who gets that reference). I love the fast paced, in-your-face feel to this song, especially the heavy guitar work and vocals. I listen to this song at least four times a day. Does that make me obsessed? I sure as hell hope so <3 7: Pulling Teeth (Dookie): This was actually the very first Green Day song I can remember hearing. My dad used to play this song (and album, for that matter) all the time when I was a young child. He actually went to a show when they were Sweet Children and has been a fan of them.. and my dad is almost fifty. Goes to show how broad of a fanbase Green Day truly has. Anyway, what makes this song so awesome to me is the dual-vocals by Billie and Mike. I am a huge fan of Mike's vocals and his voice in general, and I'm glad he got some vocal time on this song. The two vocals mesh so well together it's unbelievable. 6: Church on Sunday (Warning): Another upbeat song, but the one key element to this song that I just love are the lyrics. "If I promise to go to Church on Sunday, will you go with me on Friday night? If you live with me, I'll die for you in this compromise." Just outstanding. I love the overall sound of this song, and it is the main song I always sing along with, even when I am in public. I show no fear when I'm singing Green Day. Hell, I sang it at work today 5: American Eulogy (21st Century Breakdown): Again, there is something about Mike Dirnt's vocals that just gives me goosebumps. His solo on this song is easily one of my most favorite parts in any Green Day song. I love every part of this song, from the top to the bottom - this song will forever be one of my favorites. Even though 21st Century Breakdown is my least favorite Green Day album, albeit still absolutely amazing in every aspect, American Eulogy will forever be one of my favorite songs.. ever. 4: Dry Ice (39 Smooth): A classic old-school Green Day love song. 39 Smooth is one of my favorite Green Day albums (1,039 Smoothes Out Slappy Hours for those who have the collab of 39 Smooth, Slappy and 1,000 Hours). Another song I learned on guitar when I first started playing, and I know every word to this song by heart. I just get so into it.. and I know this will sound weird, but to a certain extent, this reminds me of Weezer (well technically, Weezer reminds me of this song). I'm a huge fan of Weezer, so maybe this is a good thing. If you don't like Weezer, please don't take offense to me comparing this song to Weezer.. it's just the sound of it. Back on topic: Billie's solo was outstanding. A part of me wishes he still did solo's like that, but hey.. we can't get everything we want. Fantastic song. Brilliant <3 "Come ease the pain that's in my heart.." 3: Christie Road (Kerplunk): Easily my favorite song by Green Day to play on the guitar. Everything about this song just makes me want to listen to it over and over. From Billie's amazing vocals and lyrics, to the guitar, bass and drums.. this song has it all for me. Everything about it is damn near perfect. This was the song that really got me into Green Day, and I mean.. wanting to hear every song they ever put out. Just fell in love with it. 2: Ha Ha, You're Dead! (Shenanigans): Yep, this is my second favorite Green Day song. Feel free to disagree, but this is the song I want played at my funeral. No joke. I know that has been said a lot on YouTube and stuff, but this is the epitome of just.. having fun. It is such a dark song in the sense of its lyrics, but come on.. who doesn't want to sing along with it? "Ha ha you're dead! And I'm so happy! In loving memory of your demise. When your ship is going down, I'll stand by and watch you drown! Ha ha you're dead! Ha ha you're dead! Ha ha you're dead!". Just amazing. I always sing along with it and I can never get enough of it. Never. *drum roll* 1: Homecoming (American Idiot): Yes, Homecoming tops my list. Why you ask? Well.. why not? What is there not to love about this song? A near ten minute musical epic with some of the most amazing lyrics I have ever heard. Not only that, but all three members get their own solo. Mike's "Nobody Likes You" is to this day my favorite part of any song. His voice may not be perfect, but it's so damn unique that it doesn't matter if he's off key.. it's tremendous. Tre's part is just.. awesome xD. I mean, he seems like he's always the life of the party no matter what, and to go from the sad and somber "Nobody Likes You", to the upbeat and hilarious "Rock 'n' Roll Girlfriend" is just a huge contrast that it works so well. I love every part of this song, and I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt that Homecoming, to me, is my all-time favorite Green Day song and the best Green Day song (my opinion, of course). Honorable Mentions: - A Quick One While He's Away (Who cover) - Longview (Dookie) - Jesus of Suburbia (American Idiot - almost beat out King for a Day) - Letterbomb (American Idiot) - Christian's Inferno (21st Century Breakdown) - Too Much Too Soon - Governator I thank anyone who read this. Feel free to list yours if you want! Cheers guys and happy to be on the forum!
MiloCaulfield Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 10. TIE: "East Jesus Nowhere" and "American Eulogy" from 21st Century Breakdown. Hey, I had to get that album in here somewhere. Both really rocking songs and are the best from that album. The title to EJN came from Juno which makes the song that much better. 9. "Longview" from Dookie. Believe it or not, this is the very first Green Day song I ever heard and it made me fall in love with them. Through this I got into the Offspring, then Bad Religion, then NOFX, then Black Flag, then the Minutement, then Husker Du, then the Replacements, then R.E.M., then Dead Kennedys, then the Clash, then my favorite band of all time, the Ramones, etc. 8. "80" from Kerplunk! This song just rules. Great lyrics, the bass is fantastic, and I absolutely love the guitar bridge. 7. "Jesus of Suburbia" from American Idiot. It was a close one between this and "Holiday," but in the end I went with this one because it speaks to some alienated, apathetic part of me that recognizes this song could have almost been written about me. 6. "Babs' Uvula Who?" from Insomniac. This song is not only hilarious but is yet another song that speaks to me about real life experiences. It also totally rocks and it puts me into a hyperactive overdrive mode the second it hits the bridge. 5. "Hitchin' a Ride" from Nimrod. That guitar solo gets me every time, and Billie's vocals are fantastic. 4. "Castaway" from Warning:. This song is painfully catchy, I like the build-up when you think Billie's going in for a solo but doesn't, and the lyrics once again hit super close to home. 3. "Going to Pasalacqua" from 39/Smooth. Man, this song is catchy. The rhythm is sublime, the instruments are worked to perfection, the lyrics are depressing but somehow still uplifting, and Billie's vocals are damn near godlike. 2. "J.A.R." This song is just beautiful. The lyrics are the best part because they nearly make me cry, but the bass comes close. It's a shame they never put this on an album, because it would have lived on in much more legend if it had been on Insomniac. 1. "Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?" off Kerplunk! because I love Catcher in the Rye and to this day, this song sends chills up my spine. It basically describes my life and it's what made me want to get up and do something with it.

It makes me feel good. 3. Jesus of Suburbia- This song pretty much describes my life. I can relate with JoS. TFABH is my favorite part. 2. 21 Guns- This was the first Green Day song I've ever heard. Viva la Gloria!- It's one of the first songs I ever heard by Green Day. A lot of the lyrics remind me of myself.
TheJesusOfSuburbiaIsALie Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 It's really hard for me to choose 10 songs cause every day I'm obsessed with a different song, but here is my list for today, 10.Going To Pasalacqua- This song is just awesome! I love the guita beats and the lyrics mean a lot to me! 9.Waiting- I think that Warning is an album where Billie explores or experimanted with his voice and this song is definately amazing! The lyrics are pretty awesome too! 8.Welcome To Paradise- What can I say about this song? It is amazing! I just lov the lyrics and I love the way at the starting it's all calm and then it just explodes. It's just amazing. 2.Are We The Waiting- I love this song! It always takes my breath away when Billie sing, The Jesus of Suburbia is a lie...., it gives me a very clam feeling when I listen to it and I really can't explain why I love it so much! *Drumroll* 1.Jesus Of Suburbia- Describes my life! Anytime I listen to this, I just feel so connected to it! My fav parts are City Of The Damned and Tales From Another Broken Home. Edit: Homecoming and American Eulogy are also part of my fav songs becaus of Mike Dirnt. I just love this voice!
StuckWithRob Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 10 - Hitchin a Ride - completely amazing riff with some thought provoking lyrics 9 - Burnout - 'I declare I don't care no more' - Billie Joe at his lyrical best. A great opening song 8 - Welcome to Paradise - the first time I heard this song I just thought WOW! Really got me into Green Day and I still love it 7 - Nice Guys Finish Last - awesome, 'kick ass' song. 6 - American Idiot - the first Green Day song I heard. Green Day doing what they do best: saying it as it is. 5 - Christie Road - beautiful song in many ways, and I like the way no one really knows it except true Green Day fans! 4 - Longview - the throbbing bass, angry guitar, bored whine of Billie Joe's voice - perfect antidote to teenage boredom 3 - 2000 Light Years Away - another song that really speaks out to me, a great song that always sounds good 2 - Stuck With Me - was my favourite song largely just for being a brilliant out and out punk song. Everything about it is perfect! But is beaten by... 1 - J.A.R. (Jason Andrew Relva) - basically amazing lyrics, fabulous riff, really stirring song emotionally. Sums up Green Day for me.
Elena Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 uhm...it's very difficult for me to create a top 10 GD list, cos i love every song....so i think i write down the ones where i can relate to the most or that have a special meaning for me 1. Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life): it's really my fave song when i first heard it i fell in love with it and it made me a bigger Green Day fan, cos at that time i didn't know many GD songs, but i wanted to listen to all of their songs at least once and when i heard this song i really HAD TO listen to all of their other songs 2. Wake Me Up When September Ends: First of all: yeah i know about what it really is, but for me it's soo much more. My grandfather died in 2004 - in the year AI came out - and that's now 7 years ago ("7 years has gone so fast"). Moreover i broke my collarbone in September this year (one day before we went to Berlin -.-...i've never been in Berlin before and was sooo happy that i could go there) and when drove home from Berlin (3 days later) i heard in the news that a plain with the players of russians best hockey team crashed...there was also a player of the german national league in it...i've seen him playing live and it's just sad hearing all those young players died ...then at the beginning of october i broke my collarbone again and after the doc told me that and we went to the car and sat down i thought of WMUWSE and of my first collarbone fracture and what was playing when we turned on the radio?: Wake Me Up When September Ends !! ...it was the first time that song made me smile ...ok, it sounds stupid, but that song means a lot to me 3. J.A.R. I love the open end of the song and every time i listen to that song i think: "that song must have been written by a genious!!" the lyrics are just awesome and the melody, too and it totally fits....it's a sad song, but it gives you hope and it lets you think pure awesomeness and a perfect tribute 4. Amy: It's a perfect tribute the lyrics are sooo great and i think everyone loved that song when he first heard it and no one really knew the lyrics, but almost everyone had to cry...and now we all know the lyrics and they're just awesome...and i often have to cry when i hear that song !! 5. Jesus Of Suburbia: It just describes my life and the song's awesome. I also love the idea...i mean that song is different to all the other songs they wrote before !! 6. Holiday: I love the lyrics and the message behind it 7. Christie Road: It's my fave song from Kerplunk...at the moment 8. Macy's Day Parade: That song just says the truth !! 9. Hold On: it reminds me to hold on by myself 10. Warning: yeah it tells the truth and some Warning signs are just redundant and also Minority: it shows me that it's not necessary to be in the majority and i wanna be the minority
Lauralovesgreenday Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 Nice to read some of your favourite songs, its strange how it can vary so much, within one band. anyway, here's mine: 10. Ha Ha You're Dead - I love the sound and humour used in this song, it makes me laugh so much, but it's good to see a band who can actually share their real emotions so well. 9. Waiting - When they played this song at Wembly, it was one of the best moments of my life. I love the optimism of this song, and it always cheers me up. 8. Why Do You Want Him? - I can relate to this so much. that's all i really need to say about this one, i just wish they re-recorded it in better quality! 7. When I Come Around - I love how truthful and honest this song is. It's one of those which i see my self listening to, driving somewhere at night. no idea why. But i love it. 6. Pulling Teeth - i'm not quite sure if it's the amazing harmonies or the humour in this song that gets me the most, but it's great. what a tune. Nice bass line too. 5. Stuart and The Ave. - This song takes me back to when I went to Oakland, standing on telegraph ave, singing this song in my head, and seeing Mike's cafe. Great lyrics, and very underrated. 4.Are We The Waiting - this song makes me think of the future, and what i'm waiting for. I can't decide if it makes me happy, or sad but i'm sure as hell it's one of my favourites. 3. 80 - when I first listened to kerplunk, this track really stood out to me. I loved the way billie described how he felt, it just made me feel like there was someone else who felt that way. 2. J.A.R. - this was one of the first songs I listened to, as ISH was my first album. 'It's how I give, and i'm still giving.' that line gives me the shivers. to be honest the whole song does. I love it's message - You've gotta live, cause life goes on'. It's got Green Day's true sound with some amazing lyrics. 1. Homecoming -homecoming has its moments that make me laugh, cry and love. It's got everything going for it. The story of Jimmy and Jesus, rage and love and I love Nobody Likes You, especially as mike sings this. This song just works for me and is easily my favourite. sorry this has taken up so much space! just remembered i forgot JOS agh. it's 1.5 on my list!
Keith Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 My list: 10. "Minority/J.A.R." I couldn't decide between these two. 9. "Nice Guys Finish Last" Because of the awesome video. 8. "Outsider" because I love the Ramones, but it is a cover song. 7. "The Grouch" Because I like how Billie wrote that he is "just another shitty old man" when he was in his 20's. I just thinks that is funny. 6. "Christie Road" Because it is the song that got me in to Green Day's older songs. 5. "Welcome To Paradise" Because it's just a really catchy song. 4."Burnout" Because it is my favorite song from Dookie. 3. "Letterbomb" Because it has so much meaning to the A.I. story. 2. "Walking Contradiction" Because, again, awesome music video, and the lyrics are pretty cool with all of the contradictions and such. 1. "American Eulogy" live in Tokyo from the Last Night On Earth EP because I love Mike's singing and the crowd's energy throughout the whole song.
bjrules Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Here's my list: 10.Viva La Gloria? (Little Girl)- I actually didn't like this song when I first heard 21st Century Breakdown, but now I'm in love with it. It's a great song to put on in the car, and me and my Dad like to sing along to it 9. Westbound Sign- I have no idea why I love this one so much, but there's just something about it. I think it has some great lyrics, and I really like the lines "Is it salvation? Or an escape from discontent? Will she find her name in the California cement? Punched out the grind that punched her one too many time, Is tragedy 2000 miles away?" 8. 80- The intro of this song just kills me. I love it to bits, and I love the way that this song is so honest, and the way that Billie wasn't afraid of showing his feelings. 7. Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?- This one never gets old. In my opinion its Kerplunk's best track, and it is so much fun to play along with on the guitar. A brilliant song, and the Awesome as Fuck version is utterly brilliant. 6. Waiting- In my opinion Warning's best track. I love how optimistic it is, it gets me in a good mood and I love singing along to it 5. Holiday- One of the first Green Day songs I ever heard, and I still haven't gotten sick of it. The message behind this song is awesome, and it is amazingf live. Another one that I like to sing in the car with my Dad, because I'm cool like that 4. Boulevard of Broken Dreams- The song that comes straight after Holiday, and I can't get enough of that transition. As much as this song has been incredibly overplayed, I still haven't gotten sick of it. This was one of the songs that made me love Green Day as much as I do, and for that reason it means a lot to me. I can remember being 9-10 years old and seeing this on TV all the time and being obsessed with the music video. Its a song that give me a lot of good memories, even if it isn't the most uplifting or happy song 3. American Idiot- Yes, a third song from American Idiot in a row, and another song that was a single. Kind of makes me seem like a bad fan, but oh well. I love this one because of the way that the music sits so well with the lyrics, and the music video was another piece of brilliance. 2. Basket Case- Another really well known song, but this one is yet another song that will never get old for me. To be honest I have never actually heard this one on the radio, and if I ever do I will absolutely freak out. Another fun one to play on the guitar, and is a nice sing along as well. A brilliant piece of songwriting from Billie Joe. 1. When I Come Around- Without a doubt my favourite song of all time. This was actually the first Green Day song that I ever heard and loved, even though I didn't know it was Green Day at the time. I can remember so clearly, I was about 4 years old in the car with mum, this song came on the radio, and I can remember saying "I like this song!", but I had no idea who sang it. So then about 5 years later, I had discovered American Idiot and loved it, then I got Dookie a little while later. Then I can remember this song coming on and I absolutely freaked out, because this was the song that I had loved since I was little. I think from that moment on this just became my favourite song, and I find it incredibly catchy. Other songs that came close: -2000 Light Years Away - Going to Pasalaqua - Hitchin A Ride -Letterbomb -Stuck With Me - Christie Road -One of My Lies -iViva La Gloria!
-Laura Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 10. Good riddance: This was the first song that I learnt playing on the guitar. Warning: I love listening to this song, I really like the melody. 7. Holiday: Amazing song! I love the drums in this one. 6. I love the last part of it, as well the lyrics as the music. 3. Jesus of surbubia: This is a really great song, I love that it's a long song and I love how it consists of different parts. Tales from another broken home always gives me goose bumps. 2. Are we the waiting: This one makes me think about the future, about which experiences still have to come and whether things will get better or not. 1. Wake me up when september ends: This song has very much meaning to me because my dad passed away last year. It's just a wonderful song, and I love how much emotion it has.
Satan Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 10. Viva la Gloria (little girl) - This one simply because it's an awesome song. I think green day really pushed themselves with this song. 9. Platypus (I hate you) – I can really vent with this song. It’s also very raw, and energetic, which is something that you don’t find much of anymore. 8. 2000 light years away – This song took my breath away when I heard it. The lyric “I hold I breath and close my eyes and … dream about her” is so sweet and so romantic. 7. 80 – Billie and Adrienne’s relationship is just amazing. I’m so inspired by it. This song taught me to believe in love. 6. She's a rebel – After hearing this song… mainstream radio was out of my life. I realized people look for more things than slutty, attractive, gullible hoes. I guess it kinda gave me some confidence. 5. Holiday - This song is the reason I am hooked on Green Day. It remains one of my favourite songs till date. The lyrics of this song are just amazing, as well as the message. It's a song that everyone would like at first listen. I would even go as far as to say that this song is a classic. 4. Paper Lanterns – definitely one of their most relatable songs. I also really just love the sound. It’s catchy and fun and it would be my first choice (for a Green Day song) to perform if I ever got the opportunity. 3. Basket Case - This is the song that I scream when I'm angry. Love the lyrics; love the message and its super fun on the guitar. 2. Jesus Of Suburbia - Cliche, i know. I love this song for pretty much the same reason as everyone else. I can relate it to my life; it’s musically a masterpiece and the amount if emotion, intensity and brilliance in this song are honestly unbelievable. 1. She – i swear this song was written about me. Easily some of Billie’s best lyrics and the overall vibe of the song is great. It’s absolutely gorgeous and this will probably be my favourite song till I die. Others: Last of the american girls whatshername boulevard of broken dreams good riddance

dersulbob Posted March 10, 2012 Posted March 10, 2012 10. Waiting (Warning)- I first heard this song on International Superhits! before I really knew about how Green Day's musical style developed over the years. I could hardly believe it was a Green Day song at first, as there was something extremely uplifting about the melody that I hadn't really heard in one of their songs before. It's one of those songs that gets stuck in my head, and I'll often absent-mindedly start singing it without really realising it. It makes the list for that reason, and the fact that it was the first song that made me realise that Green Day were more than just your average rock band. 9. 21 Guns (21st Century Breakdown)- In an album that I don't particularly connect with, 21 Guns is, for me, the only real stand-out song. It was not the album version that made me fall in love with the song though- seeing the song live gave me goosebumps and sent shivers down my spine, especially when it's just BJ and the piano alone. I always listen to the AAF version over 21CB for that reason- it still gives me goosebumps. 8. Wake Me Up When September Ends (American Idiot)- This is the song that started it all for me. I was an eleven year old when my Aunt bought me American Idiot as a random Christmas gift, and this was the first song from the album that I could not stop playing or singing. It was the first song I had ever connected with in that sense, and as a result, Green Day became the first band I ever really cared about, and remain my favourites to this day. The song itself is filled with emotion, and it's another one that always gives me chills. Love this song. 7. Redundant (nimrod.)- Redundant has only recently become one of my favourite Green Day songs, and I think that a big reason for that is that it's just... different. The vocals from BJ are much more subdued than they are in many of the other songs on that album, and I think that adds to the theme of just "going through the motions" that seems to flow through the song, that there's nothing to be that excited about. And while that may not be the most uplifting of messages, it certainly relates to me, and I'm sure to many others. Aside from that, I love Tre's work in the song, I'm forever tapping along to those drums. 6. Basket Case (Dookie)- Couldn't have a top ten list and not include Basket Case- what I love most is the pure energy that pulses through the song. It's unrelenting, it's in your face, and it's just fantastic. It is universally popular too, it's one of the few Green Day songs that, if I start singing it, my friends will join in. Hell, at Leeds Fest 2011, it was played through the speakers while we waited for MCR, and it got practically the loudest reaction of the day. I was so proud to be a Green Day fan at that moment. 5. Jesus Of Suburbia (American Idiot)- I can't say much about JoS that hasn't already been said. It is nothing less than work of genius. 4. Nice Guys Finish Last (nimrod.)- It's all about energy again in this song. I love the drum intro, I love Mike's bass, but I think what I like most about the song are the lyrics. Without a doubt, this is my favourite opening track to an album, and it also happens to be my Dad's favourite Green Day song, we often sing along to it together in the car, so that's another reason that I like it so much. 3. Give Me Novocaine (American Idiot)- It reminds me of a girl that I lost a few years back. It's more sentimental than anything. I find it incredibly hard to listen to now, but when I do it fills me with such an emotion that it always will remain one of my favourites. 2. No One Knows (Kerplunk!)- Another one that I think I love so much purely because of how different it is from the rest of the album. Thinking about it now, this song was probably such a challenge for the young punks back then, to deal with the emotion of such a sombre song, but of course they dealt with it, with incredible success, planting the roots, I think, for how diverse their music would eventually become. That bass, that guitar, and BJ's sad, almost mournful vocal all come together to create a masterpiece. 1. Letterbomb (American Idiot)- There are so many things to love about this song. Powerful chords, a fantastic, almost rollercoaster-like progression, a brilliant chorus, and I feel it signifies the "beginning of the end" of the American Idiot narrative, and I think it fills that role just perfectly. I think what I love most of all though in this song are the incredible lyrics. Just a few that I love: "Nobody likes you, everyone left you, they're all out without you, having fun..." "What's in love is now in debt, on your birth certificate, so strike the fucking match to light this fuse..." "Standing still when it's do or die, you better run for your fucking life..." "Where will all the martyrs go when the virus cures itself?" "You're not the Jesus of Suburbia, the St. Jimmy is a figment of, your father's rage and your mother's love, made me the idiot America!" -Songwriting at it's best. (sorry for taking up so much room)
