Maria-ISH Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I just heard about it on another forum! I'm glad since here in the states, we don't see many Green Day videos on TV.
Laura! Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I used to watch pop up video all the time when I was younger. I can't believe it's coming back! And what makes it even better that the guys are going to be on the first episode!
*withoutadoubt* Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 I love watching those videos! I'm glad they are doing it for 21 Guns. Maybe we'll get some tid-bits that we don't know already, lol.
Mar Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 When is this? In the U.S., it'll be Oct. 10 (this Monday) at noon.
Burnout98 Posted October 8, 2011 Posted October 8, 2011 In the U.S., it'll be Oct. 10 (this Monday) at noon. Thanks! Now to move to the U.S
gloria123 Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 that's awesome! i have a new obsession with pop up video and have been watching it for the past 3 days! so now there's a video i actually want to see!
*withoutadoubt* Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 In the U.S., it'll be Oct. 10 (this Monday) at noon. Ooh thanks!! I didn't realize it would on so quickly. Looking forward to this!
norcalgreendayfan Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 Hope someone records this and posts it online
Ingrid Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 I don't understand - could someone explain this show please? Because it sounds to me like they're just gonna be playing the music video, and I don't see how that is something to be all that excited about..? So I guess there's something I'm not getting.
Velocity Posted October 9, 2011 Posted October 9, 2011 The videos are all played with pop-ups (hence the name) containing little tidbits of info about the video, the artist, and jokes about the song. It's pretty funny actually, but nothing to get ridiculously excited about I guess.
blitzkriegdeb Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I didn't see anything that put a negative slant on Billie. But yeah, nothing too new. Thought it was pretty funny that they used a rubber fish in place of the real fish when they shot up the tank.
Laurina Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 VH1 has it posted on their website... http://www.vh1.com/video/green-day/697337/21-guns-pop-up-video.jhtml but if anyone has a version of it that others can see that would be great because according to VH1... being in Canada means we are on Jupiter and therefore not able to view anything on their site
Mar Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I've been disappointed with pretty much all of the new Pop-Up Videos that I've seen, to be honest. Something's just different, I don't know. VH1 fucked up the release date (they said it came out in 2008), and they're wrong - 21 Guns' lyrics are not on the walls. It's "See the Light." So, there's that.
DoodleBob Posted October 10, 2011 Posted October 10, 2011 I'm praying to God that VH1 also fucked up the fact that Billie Joe wants Robert Pattinson to play the Jesus of Suburbia...
Laura! Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I just saw it, and was disappointed. There was nothing new really, except I never knew the actress was hit by one of the explosions. They kind of put a negative slant on Billie, I would recommend you just watch the "Making of the 21 Guns Video" instead. It's pretty cool. Where was the negative slant? I didn't see one.
The Snark Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 The one about Gloria and Christian using each other as human shields against the 'explosions' was quite funny. But why did VH1 have to do such old videos?! They could have at least picked ones that were made within the last 5 years...
*withoutadoubt* Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 I'm praying to God that VH1 also fucked up the fact that Billie Joe wants Robert Pattinson to play the Jesus of Suburbia... Ugh, that got an immediate 'Oh God no!' from me. The whole thing was ok, nothing new that I didn't know.
lizziebix Posted October 11, 2011 Posted October 11, 2011 Seems like a joke that Billie would say he wants Robert Patterson in the movie. Also, not one pop-up comment about Mike. That's kind of sad.
