But I've been wrong to think that so sod it, here we go.. Day one: How did you get into Green Day? I was twelve years old, it was January 2005, and I'd been in the local pantomime. It was like the aftershow party for all the cast at the end of the week of performances and they had a whole bunch of your average songs playing. Suddenly, American Idiot came blasting out the speakers. I'd never really listened to anything like that before, my music taste was still incredibly juvenile, me and my friend ended up headbanging across the stage, just pissing about I suppose. From then on I was completely hooked and my entire music taste changed in an instant. I went home and recorded all the music of theirs I could find online onto cassettes because my parents wouldn't buy me any CDs. It's terrifying to think how much of a different person I'd be today if I hadn't been in the room at the time the played Green Day. Probably still listening to S Club 7.
