sassafras409 Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Ok I have two recordings of the song "What About Today" and I haven't seen anywhere else on these boards that this song is mentioned. One is live at Berkeley Square and the other is Live at 924 Gilman. I think both were recorded when they were playing as Sweet Children but I'm not sure. I was just wondering if anyone has ever heard a good enough quality of this song to understand all the lyrics. The song starts with lyrics that sound like "I've got this feeling that's coming over me..." I can make out a few lyrics but not all of them since the sound is really muffled, but I really like the parts of this song that I can really hear and I wish they had put it on one of their CD's!! Anyway if anyone has heard a better version I'd really appreciate knowing where and how I can get my hands on it!
Jacob. Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 I don't think there will ever be a good quality recording, unless they play it live on this upcoming tour or it's on their next album. It'll probably be a song that they never officially record but still play it from time to time like Minnesota Girl.

There's this one on youtube, I don't know which of the shows it's from I thought I'd found it in the GDC download links just now too, but listening to it I see it's just that Network-sounding song that Billie played in one of those phone messages incorrectly labelled as What About Today. People have incorrectly posted that Networky song as What About Today on youtube too. So if you're looking for it it's a slow acoustic song, not a fast one.

But since that video's the Gilman one I'll just rip it from youtube then, so thanks! Come to think of it, I'm pretty sure the Berkeley version was posted on here a few months ago along with a couple of other songs from the show, but they were just labelled as unknown songs. Can't find the thread but it's on here somewhere.
