kerrang! came up with a list of the 50 greatest rockstars in the world today and Billie Joe came 10th. it's pretty good considering we haven't had anything new since 2009

other people in the list include Hayley Williams, Dave Grohl, Frank Iero and Simon Neil.

I have scanned the paragraph about Billie Joe but if anyone wants to see the full list i'd be more than happy to scan it

Thanks for posting! :)

As I said in the news thread before, it's great to have Billie in that list. And #10 isn't that bad. Really not.

But (for me) those who came in before him really don't belong there. Not everybody, but many of them.

Could be that it's just me.. but that's what I think about it. :)

And even though.. I like Billie's description!

Great to see him on the list. Dave Grohl and Corey Taylor should have been in the top 3 though :P

10?? Not bad.

Who were numbers 7-1??

neither have I, i haven't heard of the band either...

EDIT: I just searched them on youtube and this came up. I think you'll only have heard of them if you're into metal and screaming

Interesting, thanks for posting! :) I'd love to find out who else is on the list.

I think it's a testament to his popularity that even though he ranks lower than some of them, they gave him a bigger picture on the page :whistle :whistle :whistle

hayley is number 7 !!! :o really ? for what ?

but yay billie is in the top 10 :woot: even though he came last.

I scanned the rest of the pages for anyone who wants to see the full list. Going in a spoiler because its huge

I was kinda misled by the title of the list. I got really confused when I started seeing people like Gene Simmons and Axl Rose. Im guessing theyre counting older bands. Huh. I hate to sound like a pessimist, but I'm kind of feeling like today needs some better rockstars. Glad to see Billie on the list though. I would have face-palmed if he weren't. Still did a little bit.

Awesome, thank you so much!

Thank you for posting!

If possible, could you please re-size that image? It's absolutely enormous. It only needs to be half that size, if that.

Huh. They didn't give Billie the "tattoo" stamp. Guess he's not crazy enough, or they don't notice or count a guy without face tattoos :shifty:

I really like what it says about Chad Kroeger in the "Ones that got away" section.

"His music is used to sell sofas, okay? There are geography teachers more rock n roll than Nickelback's frontman"

Thanks for posting ;) I like Paramore, but Hayley Williams before Billie Joe Armstrong?? What a stupid joke. I'm glad he's on the list, but not in N. 10, having some kids at the front...

I saw something on the Kerrang tv channel (at least I think it was Kerrang) the other day counting down the Kings of Planet Rock. GD was number 3 behind Iron Maiden and Foos. I prefer to think about this list than the magazine one.

It really is only a silly magazine thing but some of the people ahead of him are ridiculous....you know who you are!

Thanks to mahalihooishavingaGreenDay for an enormous scan. I admit I read it in the newsagent and decided not to buy it. Here is the number 10 position with just the BJ stuff resized. But it is all thanks to the thread starter for it.

Dear Kerrang:

Top 5 should look a little more like this

1.) Billie Joe Armstrong

2.) Dave Grohl

3.) Mike Ness

4.) Julian Casablancas

5.) Someone that doesn't play in a band that fucking sucks ass (not in reference to the #5 on the original list. i like MCR)

Peace out.

Yeah, was kinda thinking Billie would be at least in the top 5.

I was prepared for anything though, last night on twitter Kerrang! were saying they bet no one would guess who was at number 1, so I pretty much figured it wasn't gonna be Billie...

Oliver, hayley, and frank better than billie? I believe not.

I think 10 is a pretty decent rating, nice to see Dave Grohl on there :)
