Abbey. Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Today Tony posted the new GDA distro of FLUKE FANZINE #9. GDA Announcement. I am starting a thread in here so we can discuss it once folks start to get their copies via GDA. So let me tell you that I have been busting at the seams waiting to discuss it here. Matthew Thompson (Fluke editor) gets Jason to dish on some awesome shit. In addition to all the great teasers Tony mentioned on the GDA page, we also learn who was considered for Jeff Matika's touring spot before Jeff was introduced to the band. Im not going to reveal any spoilers but I hope you guys hit the buy button asap on the GDA page so we can start talking about this ridiculously awesome Jason White interview. I even hate to call it an interview because its really written as it is, two old friends talking. BUY THIS SHIT NOW!!! Cmon, i got nobody to laugh about how the band puts their "ROs" on. Maybe Matthew will even join the conversation with us...
greendaytone Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks Abbey. I'm looking forward to seeing a copy!

Abbey. Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 I love the story about how he pissed off a jealous Aaron Cometbus...hee hee hee...will.not.reveal.shit.will.not.reveal.shit...
farley drexel hatcher Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 We do. I'll be doing the shipping for Europe. Awesome, i'll definitely be ordering a copy then. I just remembered I ordered Cometbus through GDA so I really should know you ship to UK already lol.
Hermione Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Oh wow I heard about this but didn't think there'd be any way I could get my hands on it. I'm so getting it . Thanks GDA!
Abbey. Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 I've ordered it. Feeling very impatient now! yay! im impatient for you too!
lizziebix Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Ordered mine before you insisted we do it, Abbey! Now I'm even more excited to read it.
Marlee Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 yet another thing I can't get cuz I'm flat broke! EDIT: IT'S $2?!?
fluke Posted June 29, 2011 Posted June 29, 2011 Thanks for the enthusiasm, everyone! Bobby Joe Ebola and the Children Macnuggits are also interviewed. I was on a short leg of their tour which is winding down now. Emily's Army is playing a bunch of shows with them on this last leg. Such a great couple of dudes and a great band, honestly. Pinole HS alumni, friends of Green Day. I fell in love with their stuff when I first heard it. Check them out: http://bobbyjoeebola.com/. Their latest record "F" is gold to my ears and heart.
Abbey. Posted June 29, 2011 Author Posted June 29, 2011 Ordered mine before you insisted we do it, Abbey! Now I'm even more excited to read it. You know Ive never gotten a big hard on from watching Jason White as a stage performer. To me, he's always looked uncomfortable in front of a crowd, maybe that is just relative to the massively awesome front-man that BJA is. That being said I LOVE LOVE LOVE jason's music particularly his stuff with the BIG CATS which y'all should check out if you haven't already. That cd is on massive repeat in my car, my ipod, everywhere, and this interview Matthew did was really refreshing to see Jason in a totally new light. He lets down his badly coiffed and product-desperate hair and I got a much better sense of who he is. There's a story about him meeting a very famous band that is pure adorable. I cant wait for you to read it! Thanks for the enthusiasm, everyone! Fluke, its SO AWESOME to have you here on the forum. Your zine is brilliant, your layout spectacular, and your Jason White interview is a pure gift to us Green Day fan lunatics. Thank you so much for sharing it and your friendship with Jason White with us. I hope you share more stories with us here!

I cant wait for you to read it! Watching him play with GD isn't the best, except for the "do the propaganda" bit in AI when he dances (I find that hilarious). But I love him in the Influents and PHGP. I agree, he looks so much more at home (?) in front of the smaller crowds playing on his own or with the Influents than he does with GD.

Oh man, it was so awesome to see him and Pinhead Gunpowder back in 2/2010. We desperately need a PG show.

They recently recorded some new music. Itd be nice if they ever played outside Little Freaking Rock.
