whoa_oo_whoa Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 First, some history... D.U.I. is a risque song about drunk driving by Tre. It was recorded during the b-side sessions for nimrod. It was not included on any album or single in that era, but it was to be included on Shenanigans, only to be cut at the last minute. Various rumours of a Japanese exclusive surfaced, pissing off fans to no end (myself included). At first, only a couple of low bitrate, poor quality mp3s were available. A full quality mp3 surfaced soon after, only ruined by the petty voice-over we know all too well. A valiant effort was made to reconstruct the song with the various rips, but a real high quality rip from a promo acetate, the only hard copy available, eluded most of us... Until now. 320kbps mp3 WAV Full song, no voice-overs/cuts/fades Enjoy 2 minutes of Tre goodness.

I have no idea if this is the same or better but if it's better then yay! And if it's the same then still yay for everyone who doesn't already have it

As far as I know, the last posted one was the FrankenDUI, which was mostly the good quality voiceover mp3, but at the voiceover, it cuts to the old mono 128kbps mp3, and it fades out the last voice-over. Listen and compare with headphones to see what I mean. Although I could have missed something and someone posted this already.

I'll run a few checks on it with SoundForge later on to be sure, but I've just listened to both, and I think this is different. Yea I don't know, I'm not to sure if it is. Different users posted the 320 and the wav, but the wav is ripped directly from the user's CD. The board is usually pretty good for catching transcodes and such, so I am pretty confident this is actually CD--->WAV--->your ears. Also, first post has been updated with the WAV file.

Okay because this same version is on youtube, exactly the same. When I put them both in Audacity they synced up perfectly. Also if you silence one of the parts in each track and let the other track play, it sounds exactly the same. Really, the only difference I could tell was your one is about 0.12mb bigger, thats it. Also I've reuploaded the MP3 to megaupload to make it easier for some people http://www.megaupload.com/?d=XGEB5PB9

With the lossless wav, you have none of the compression artifacts, and you can encode it to 320 or V0 to get the best possible quality with a minimum of these artifacts. Anyways, as I said in my second post, I may have missed something in my years of lurking, so apologies if any time was wasted, but at least now everyone can have it in whatever format/bitrate they wish.

I was just saying I thought it might have been the youtube rip because they are pretty much the same but of coarse if yours is the original then yea, yours is better Also the youtube rip one was only found like a month ago
