Jaymee!! Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 BUT WHAT DOES IT MEAN?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
spark in the night Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 it appears that Access Industries is trying to access Warner
Katarina. Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Instead of "ugh, Warner", it's gonna be "ugh, Access" or what.. even worse promotion for the band's new records? Idk. There probably won't change that much anyway. Just gonna.. deal with it.
Hermione Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 Could be wrong but I'm guessing this is too "high up" to affect anything to do with the artists on the label or the name of the label.
GDInsaniac Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 New Label could be better like a fresh start, but probably not.
Trotsky Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 I don't really know or care much about corporate takeovers and I think in the long run it doesn't matter, my pirate ship sails and takes the treasure no matter who I'm pillaging.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Well, I hope that changes nothing on the level of how it affects the artists. Not too worried though. "Damn Warner" sounds better than "Damn Access" or "Damn Blavatnik", though. Although "Damn Blavatnik" does sound more badass. Kind of sounds like the Russian mafia or something.
gdpony Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 If it doesn't affect the band, they can do whatever they want
Zelda Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 As long as it doesn't affect Green Day, I'm cool with it.
Reep Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 It's possible some bands could get cut, i'm fairly sure it happened to Third Eye Blind awhile ago.
Malleus Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I don't think any record labels will fuck with Green Day in the near future.
Punk-tastic32 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Um... Oh no? Green Day is so awesome, that if Warner, Access, or whatever label they're signed to, wants to screw with them, they can just leave and everyone else will be all over them asking for them to sign with them.
Rancid punk:LTD Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 I wonder what this means for Green Day's producers Rob works for WMG. and I think Butch does too... I hate when bands go producer shopping for some reason, and I wish they'd work with Rob again.
Reep Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Um... Oh no? Green Day is so awesome, that if Warner, Access, or whatever label they're signed to, wants to screw with them, they can just leave and everyone else will be all over them asking for them to sign with them. Not sure if you understand how this works.
Punk-tastic32 Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Not sure if you understand how this works. ...Yeah I probably don't. But I was kinda exaggerating there... I know they're signed to a contract and whatnot...
~ Walking Contradiction Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 "Damn Warner" sounds better than "Damn Access" or "Damn Blavatnik", though. Although "Damn Blavatnik" does sound more badass. Kind of sounds like the Russian mafia or something. LOL Anyway I wonder what the guys think about it...
Fuzz Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Could be wrong but I'm guessing this is too "high up" to affect anything to do with the artists on the label or the name of the label. Yeah. Warner Music Group is different from Warner Bro's Records and Reprise Records. It's like company on top of company on top of company.
veroPasalacqua Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 lol who cares As long as it doesnt affect GD ...
Undómiel Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 Can't imagine it affecting GD... if it did they'd probably just say 'fuck it' and do it themselves? They have the means too...
