nucis-space Posted April 14, 2011 Posted April 14, 2011 With permission from Andres, I'd like to share the following information with the Green Day Community... Thanks to the generosity of Green Day and Chris Bilheimer (noted GD graphic designer) a one-of-a-kind Fender Acoustic guitar will be auctioned off to benefit a small nonprofit located in Athens, GA called Nuci's Space. It was hand-painted by Chris, using the original stencils from "21st Century Breakdown", and autographed by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool. The guitar will include a Letter of Authenticity from Chris. The link to the auction on Ebay is http://www.tiny.cc/guitarart . If you have trouble with the link please just visit Ebay and search 'Chris Bilheimer." It is truly one-of-a-kind. Chris Bilheimer is a graphic designer and photographer working primarily in the music industry. Known predominantly for his work with R.E.M. (where he has been the in-house designer for 16 years) and Green Day, his work has spanned many genres outside of those two iconic bands. In 1995, Chris and fellow artist Lance Bangs met Billie Joe Armstrong at R.E.M. concert in San Francisco. The three struck up a friendship and several years later both started working for the band. Bilheimer has designed all the packaging, including American Idiot, an album that went on to sell fourteen million copies worldwide. During the last fifteen years, Bilheimer has been nominated for three Grammys and worked with an impressive roster of clients, including Nirvana, Weezer, Beck, Smashing Pumpkins, The Police and many more. This auction is part of the 2011 Nuci's Space Guitar Art & Memorabilia Auction. To learn more about Nuci's Space please visit http://www.nuci.org . Thanks for looking and supporting a great organization.
