Agentdeadpool Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Ever since 21stCB was released, I have always imagined a sort of...what if? What if Christian and Gloria knew JOS and vice versa? How would the songs from AI and 21stCB be arranged knowing this info? Well I think I may have(to borrow an ugly Hollywood phrase) "reimagined" the stories of JOS and the AI crew along with Christian and Gloria. I have come up with a basic outline of just such a scenario. Now dont get me wrong, I love Green Day and the AI musical. However, the more I thought about it then the more I was inspired to come up with such a story. I really wanna share this but I feel like only passionate GD fans can appreciate this sort of thing. I'm a little gunb shy about posting just haphazardly on the interwebs so my question is this, does anyone here wanna see it? It may seem like I am fishing and I prob am a tad but I would like to have some constructive critiscism on this story I have developed. So...what do you think?
Fuzz Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 You should just post it. I'm sure some people are interested in reading about how other people interpret these stories.

Laurenn Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I love reading other peoples stories about JOS and other characters. It gives me ideas for my own little story developing in my head every time i listen to the songs. So yes, id love to read your story!

Marlee Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 sounds awesome! please post!! when andres says to post...DO IT!!
groundpatty Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I'd definitely be interested in reading it. But to me... the 2 stories are insanely similar. They both start out with a fun, "fuck my environment" songs (AI/21CB/Know Your Enemy), both feature male characters that are (for lack of a better term) enthusiastic (St. Jimmy/Christian's Inferno), a girl who seems to be lost (Extraordinary Girl, Viva La Gloria?)... the guy eventually hits a rut (WMUWSE/21 Guns)... then he ends the story still questioning what's happening (Whatsername/See the Light) ... okay that last one was a reach, and there are plenty of holes to fill, but do you get my point? They're insanely interchangeable IMO... but the music is just different enough for me to enjoy each album. I'm just curious as to how the next one is different, if at all... Anyway, I look forward to your interpretation, but in my opinion, the big parts of each story are pretty much the same, so it wouldnt be too different when they're "mixed together"...
Katarina. Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 This sounds really interesting. I will read it, definitely. So I'd say.. post it!
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 If it's good, I'd like to read it as well.
Stormy Haze Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I'm curious about your views on it, why don't you post it?

Agentdeadpool Posted February 9, 2011 Author Posted February 9, 2011 Song of the Century- We open with a group of kids(about 4 or 5) and they are beginning to gather around an older man, someone who looks like they have lived life. They plead and plead with the man to tell them about the old days. The kids sing to entice the man. "Sing us a song of the century/ thats louder than bombs and eternity/ the era of static and contraband/ leading us into the promised land..." 21st Centruy Breakdown- We begin with Christian. He describes himself briefly to the kids. The kids are slowly becoming mesmerized. We then see a younger, more fit man who seems angrier about the world around him and he is not without his confidence. Towards the end of the song he is joined by a friend of his... Christian is confused by James and St Jimmy lets him know that he is now in control! St Jimmy shoots up more drugs and tries to get Christian to do some as well. He refuses and they fight. As Will, Tunny and St Jimmy barrage Christian, Gloria manages to get Christian and they run off. They look to see if St Jimmy is following them but he isnt. The last thing they see is St Jimmy with a wicked smile on his face. " Its St Jimmy/ And thats ny name/ And dont wear it out..." While having another restless night at home and flipping channels, he sees Whatshername on TV promoting a show at the arena. Meanwhile, Christian and Gloria find a nice secluded spot away from the world so they can be happy together. See The Light - Christian and Gloria are happy with their life together. Though they still struggle to understand their experiences and the world around them.
