Liam Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 U2 has just announced that The Saints Are Coming (A cover of The Skids song), the song that them and Green Day collaborated together to make is gonna be featured on a new CD. Taken from U2's website: From the Soweto Gospel Choir to Allan Ginsberg, Willie Nelson to Mary J Blige and Mick Jagger to Green Day, the band have curated a collection of 'duals' which highlight the remarkable range of artists they've worked with. 6. Alan86 Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Just saw this on U2's Facebook Page. Not really that interested since I have most of those collaborations already. They have played with alot of different artists though
November's Storms Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Awesome, they have done some great collabs, none of which I actually physically have, so this will be exciting!
Marlee Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 cool, most of their collabs are pretty awesome
Jimmy Strummer Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Yay for "Saints Are Coming" being on there, but what about the version of "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" with Bruce Springsteen at the same RNR Hall Of Fame concert as the Mick Jagger collabo?! Excellent version!! And, let's not forget, HE'S THE FUCKING BOSS!!!!
groundpatty Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Cool idea, but what about when Bono did "I am the Walrus" with the Secret Machines? or that live single when Paul McCartney joined U2 to play "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" to open Live 8? I guess they couldn't gain the proper rights, since they're both Beatles songs? :/
CzechIdiot Posted February 8, 2011 Posted February 8, 2011 Great! Im glad this songs is on the album, because I really like it
Zero. Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I would be hurt if it wasn't on there But that's cool, but my dad like's U2 as well... so I'll let him buy the CD
Trina Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Kind of a stupid question, but I'll ask anyways.. Will 1/15th of the profit be donated to Music Rising or? Just wondering because if I remember right all the proceeds from the original cover were to go to the charity. I remember seeing U2's singles cd or greatest hits or whatever, that included TSAC, a few years ago and seen no mention of the appropriate percentage going to MR. They probably just don't bother to state it or I've gotten something wrong but just checking that they aren't in fact profiting from something Green Day (and everyone else) thought was going to charity.
Burnout98 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Hmm. Interesting. Not one of my favourite covers though. Still great
