I recently figured out that the chorus of Deadbeat Holiday is like the verse of Mass Hysteria.

Thoughts?

And the Static Age sounds a bit like Church on Sunday.

And I think the chorus of East Jesus Nowhere sounds a little bit like the chorus of Dark Side of Night and Holiday.

Not much else to say about that. Not that interesting imo  We have separate song discussion threads for that.

Really? How is it possible?

Just listen to Deadbeat Holiday and Mass Hysteria RIGHT in a row.

Yeah quite a few of Green Day's songs have similarities to each other, and to other people's songs. That's kind of just the way it goes with music, songwriters are influenced by other songs, melodies and sounds they've heard.

I think it's particulary remarkable in 21st Century Breakdown

You're definitely right about Deadbeat Holiday and Mass Hysteria too, it's actually come up for discussion on here a few times before :D

Warning sounds like Picture Book by The Kinks. Really this probably belongs in Song Discussions thread, cos we could go on forever here!

Brain Stew sounds like 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago and the bass in While by Guitar Gently Weeps by The Beatles.

Just the same tune if you get what I mean

Some of the music in certain Foxobro songs sound really similar to some things The Clash did later in their career. Can't think of an example right this second but listen to FBHT and Combat Rock back to back. Pretty cool.

Misery & Little Girl, Prosthetic Head & Horseshoes and Handgrenades, Church on Sunday & The Static Age, Jackass & When September Ends, 25 or 6 to 4 & Bran Stew... alot of songs sound similar.

"One of my Lies" is the same as "Basket case"

"Hitchin a ride" is kind of similar to "Hit the road Jack"

I second this. Lyrically and Technically, lights out seems like an American Idiot track and Warning put together.

It's odd to me that it is 21CB era.

Also "Little Girl" and The Doors "Alabama Song" (Whiskey Bar) are very similar.

And the whole thing with the Gloria character and the doors song "Gloria" ...I think they listened to a lot of The Doors while recording.

One of my favorite Green Day interviews below, in which the interviewer compares "Hitchin' A Ride" to some song by the Stray Cats-

^The dumbass interviewer actually does have a point. The bass line of "Hitchin' A Ride" sort of sounds like a sped-up version of the Stray Cats one.

There's a bit just over halfway through Prosthetic Head that reminds me of All the Time.
