Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Today it's 19 years ago that Green Day's second album, Kerplunk!, was released. Green Day's second studio album was recorded in May and September of 1991 at Art of Ears Studio in San Francisco, CA, USA. The album was produced by Andy Ernst and Green Day and released by Lookout! Records on Janaury 17, 1992. The album was later re-mastered and released on Reprise Records and Epitaph Europe on January 9, 2007. As of 2010 it has sold over 750,000 copies in the USA and over 1 million worldwide. Happy anniversary!
pasalaska Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 one of my favourites, and the last Green Day album I bought (aside from 21CB of course), because of the whole Lookout Records rights thing. Love it to bits. don't think there's a song on this album that I don't like.
Ingrid Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 This was the last one I got as well. I had all of Green Day's other albums, and then spent about two months tracking this one down before I got my hands on it... (this was before the re-release, obviously.) I'll never forget the moment when I could finally put the album in my CD player, press play and hear 2,000 Light Years Away blasting from the speakers. <3 The long frustrating search for the album made that moment all the more special. Happy Birthday, Kerplunk! You're now officially as old as me.
oda Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 this album is older than me one of my favourites though
Katarina. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I love Kerplunk so much, such a great record. It's funny, cause I started listening to this non-stop again yesterday! Even more reason now to continue with that. My favorite Green Day record besides Nimrod and Warning. One for the Razorbacks, Christie Road, 80, No One Knows, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield?, One of my Lies. Every song actually.. they're all so great.
Isabel Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I'm 4 years older than Kerplunk It's great, Private Ale is one of my all time favourite Green Day songs (def in my top 10) and we got to hear them play it live in Manchester during the soundcheck I have a lot of love for this album. Other favourites are 80, Android and One Of My Lies. And to be honest, I find the CD inlay far more amusing/interesting than any other album
Alan86 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I was obssessed with this album a few months back. I love,One of my lies, 2000 LYA, Christie Road, Android & Who wrote Holden Caulfield happy birthday Kerplunk

Marki. Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I was thinking about making this thread yesterday, I love Kerplunk, it's such a brilliant album I love listening to it all the way through, it's an album that always makes me happy when I listen to it. I almost want to say it's my favourite Green Day album but that would be lying, I love them all
!VivaLaGreenDay!23 Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Yay.. Happy Birthday Kerplunk! This is one of my favorite albums and it came out the same month I have my birthday(I was born a couple years later of course) but it's still awesome! I can't wait to listen to it all the way through again!
Laura! Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Will always be one of my favorite albums ever. My favorites are Christie Road, Words I Might Have Ate, No One Knows, Who Wrote Holden Caulfield and One For The Razorbacks. Happy Birthday, Kerplunk!
November's Storms Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 This is overall a fantastic album, excluding the "bonus" tracks of Strangeland and Best Thing in Town. But yeah considering it was only thought to be made for a few thousand people and done on on a shoestring with shitty equipment and in only 3 days, well its pretty fucking impressive! Aaaand we know that Billie wants to perform a concert of the songs of Kerplunk right through sometime. (although he has wanted it for a while so it might be more fantasy than expectancy) Happy birthday Kerplunk!
solongfromthestars Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Ah, happy birthday Kerplunk! There's some amazing songs on this album. Awesome.
bat-chen Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Great album even though I didn't hear the album in a long time. Happy birthday, Kerplunk!

SuperRebReb Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I love this album. It's one of my favourites. It has some really really good songs in it, and even those that aren't the amazing ones, they're all amazing. I don't NOT like any of them.
xjernpqvrnbfv Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 Probably my favourite album. Happy happy happy birthday

Clayish Posted January 17, 2011 Posted January 17, 2011 I fucking love Kerplunk. Some of Green Days best written songs on this album (Christie Road, Who Wrote, 2000, 80, One Of My Lies) Just love this album.
