heyohbilliejoe Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 OH MY GOSH. thats amazing!!! theres no way the rents will get it for me though might have to make an offer instead. do you have a 'lowest selling price'?? just out of interest to see if i can afford it i NEED this guitar
ThisIsNotNora Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 That was the best replica I've ever seen! Maybe I should make a bid??
Pres Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 You did an amazing job i would bid but thats a lot of money that i dont have oh well who ever buys it will be very lucky
EvanAsFuck Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Just wondering, how exactly did you do the mud/dirt/smudge marks on the bottom part of the body?
in_your_face Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Omg!!! that's a cool one! i'd love to buy that one.
bollard_11 Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Just want to point out that it wont sound great. If your buying it just for display purpose its perfect. But if your buying it for playing / gigging I would recommend doing it. Its only a knock off of a Strat. To me I would not pay that just for a few stickers, when you can get a Fender strat for the same price. Still though great job designing it
JonnieSniper Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 Yeah I agree with the above comment You can even get a decent fender squier stratocaster for £250 which is the one I have and cost me £50 to get a seymour duncan JB pickup installed so for £300 i got a pretty good sounding guitar and if you really want it to be like "blue" you can easily do it yourself thats what i did, but made it more personal to me with my own stickers and initals very good job at it though, looks very identical if you wanted it even more identical to the real blue, should sand off the "starcaster" on the headstock thats what Billie-Joe did to the "fernandez" on it
pasalaska Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 impressive job. I hope your work pays off
wilhelm_fink Posted December 17, 2010 Author Posted December 17, 2010 Thanks for the positive comments, it took a very long time to complete. to bollard_11 theres a lot more to it than "just a few stickers" (which were actually very difficult to find by the way)... its also finding a decent guitar with a maple neck, taking it all apart, sanding off the old paint, having the new paint specially made, re-painting the body, cutting the pickguard for a suitable Duncan Designed humbucker pickup, finding and wiring in said humbucker, routing wood out of the pickup cavity so it fits properly, fitting the black bridge saddles, relicing all componants (paint/pickguard/neck/hardware) to a perfect match, accurately place all the stickers, put it all back together, re-string & give it a proper setup, the list goes on & on.... try building one this good yourself, then come back and quip "its just a few stickers". Sorry for the rant.
