Tony Vincent Is Leaving =[

Yes its true, the one and only Tony Vincent, or most of us know him as " st jimmy ", is leaving the show =[. I just can't belive he is leaving .....I am going to miss him so much, he was my favorite actor in the show....i am glad I got to meet him though, he will be missed

That's sad. I never really followed the musical or anything, but still. I wonder whose going to replace him, that is if the musical is still going then, because once Billie finishes his run, whose else is there?

I'd love to see him perform as st. Jimmy. Not going to happen anyway, haha. From what I've seen and heard so far, I think he's my favorite cast member, together with Esper. Too bad they're leaving, they're great!

Oh my God, I can't believe this ... For me he is Saint Jimmy. Not even Billie Joe can properly replace him. Tony is the embodiment of Jimmy and always will be --- He made me love the character Billie and the rest of Green Day created even more.

This is seriously depressing news. I don't like it one bit ... Although I'm now even more grateful to have met him before his run ended.

I'm not surprised by this, based on what I've read on here about him not being at press-related things for the show

Since I haven't seen the show, I can't judge his performance one way or the other but I don't like the recording of Know You Enemy at all, but I wish him the best!

I doubt it's a family issue since Aspen's staying in the show. His contract probably was up and he didn't want to extend it. Or because they knew that they wanted Billie on board, TPTB bought out the rest of Tony's contract. We'll never know that extent of the circumstances.

As of right now, Andrew Call will be the only St. Jimmy understudy on hand for the performances in January and February that Billie won't be on. However, they will most likely have another understudy added from either the current cast or a new swing that they bring in.

ETA: Tony not being in press/publicity events has nothing to do with him leaving. There just aren't many songs that he can perform in. They did do "St. Jimmy" and "Last Night On Earth" with him, but other than those, there really aren't others. That's just the way it is.

I haven't had the chance to see him perform him live, but from what I've seen and heard, he's great! I'm really happy that Billie is going to play St. Jimmy again, but we simply can't forget Tony's work. I don't know why he's leaving, but if he's having some kind of problems (idk if he is) I hope everything turns out well with him, he deserves it.

Glad you had a chance to do that. I saw the musical last April during opening week and was just floored by Tony's stage presence. "Sinister" is the best word that comes to mind to describe his interpretation of St. Jimmy -- and when he's on stage, you always have to keep an eye on him....who he's watching, who he's stalking, who he's undermining....and his way of just simply "hovering" behind Johnny to represent the self-destructive side of Johnny's personality? It's all Very glad I was able to see him perform early in the show's Broadway run, and I'm also looking forward to seeing how Billie's more fun-loving, wild-and-crazy interpretation of the role compares to Tony's.

We don't know that. The first time that Billie stepped in was because of family issues. His contract was up in January so maybe Tony just felt like it was time for a change. When Billie heard the news maybe he wanted to play the part again.
