GDJonny Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Which direction would you like to see Green Day explore?? There's no debate that they love toying with music, and challenging themselves. But what direction would you like to see them explore/go back to? I would personally like to see them produce something similar to Nimrod; experimenting with music whilst keeping that Punk Rock essence. Your thoughts? EDIT: I know we all will like which ever direction they take, but for the threads sake: Which area would you like/want them to delve into?

bollard_11 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Which direction next? Left Seriously something that combines the intensity of Insomniac with the polished sound of AI
Uva Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I guess I wanna see them the way they are)))) whatever they do I will love them because I'm sure they won't do things I've never expected))))
euphoric-pareidolias Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 i just want them to continue making awesome music, they have such a variation from SOSH to 21CB so really whatever they do will be brilliant
Desensitized09 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 i just want them to continue making awesome music, they have such a variation from SOSH to 21CB so really whatever they do will be brilliant This is my exact thought Well said!!

Juliette Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Whatevs, so far I've loved whatever they choose to do so I guess just wait and see what they come up with.
euphoric-pareidolias Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Yes I do agree, but for the threads sake: which particular area would you like them to delve into? im not sure because they keep it changing and going and exploring new areas so i dont know if they will try and repeat a certain era/area but i guess warning/nimrod because they are my favourite albums and lyrics
sara_gd Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 What do you mean by area? I'd like them to do an album not too conceptual, with songs that just come easily. Hasn't this been discused in other threads?
Katarina. Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 The Green Day direction. That one's always good. More than good..

Hasn't this been discused in other threads? What style would you like GD to play? There's already a thread like this, y'know. Didn't see that...ah well
Uva Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Yes I do agree, but for the threads sake: which particular area would you like them to delve into? I like their American idiot and 21st century breakdown conception but also I love their old albums) may be it must be kind of old conception in a new cover?!
Holly Ann Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I'm not sure what to say tbh. I've been happy with all their albums, and they can just do whatever they want. They're amazing writers/musicians. I'd like to see a bit more light-heartedness in the lyrics, and more catchy riffs than 21stCB.
alyrebe04 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 They always came out with some original ideas for their albums, I'm just waiting for them to be surprised :eyebrow: They perfectly know how to do it...
Bastard of 1967 Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 To the band, I say this: surprise me. And whatever you do, bring Mike's bass lines back into the foreground, wouldyaplease??? Green Day just ain't Green Day when you can't follow Mike's bass threads independently through the music, like you easily could on Insomniac and earlier. Burying them in the mix like Butch did on 21CB hurt the overall sound.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Is it just me, or do threads like this get made every month, if not more often...?
Clockwise Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 I think they might go into more folk-y territory, which I think I would like!
unexplainedbacon Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Christian black metal folk ska. The mosh pits would be epic.
Ellenkc Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 One Direction. Is it just me, or do threads like this get made every month, if not more often...? Not just you.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted November 29, 2010 Posted November 29, 2010 Over the hills, past the banana tree and through the river.
