Trina Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Green Day and Jesse Malin worked on some music together "one drunken late night" back in NYC. They've decided to call themselves Rodeo Queens! Their song, 'Depression Times' is due to debut tonight, after a few setbacks on DJ Rich Russo's radio show, Anything Anything in NYC on WRXP 101.9 FM. Listen here: http://www.1019rxp.com/Other/1019RXP_Stream.html Here's a couple of interviews with Jesse that mention the music; http://www.distortedmagazine.com/features/three-chords-and-an-attitude-jesse-malin http://www.uberrock.co.uk/interviews/53-february-interviews/500-jesse-malin-interview-exclusive.html Squee! Edit by Andres: Here's the full song, which finally aired December 5 http://www.megaupload.com/?d=N8O1J03B
Fuzz Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 My guess would be maybe just the song Cigs/Valentines. I guess someone has to listen to find out. Edit: As you said, since he did put Jesse/Green Day maybe just something they worked on together.
Harriet Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I don't know if it would be proper new stuff so soon after the end of the tour though
YehItsRyan Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I reckon it's too early for them to be playing material from the next album, so Cigs and Valentines would be the best guess.
Fuzz Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Maybe it's a recorded version of C&V?! As i think about this more, I think that's much less likely. I really doubt they would already have a version of that they sent off without it being mastered or anything like that. Plus, if it was, I doubt he'd say "jesse/green day"
Captain Pasalacqua Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 I wouldn't get too excited to be honest...
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 though it's probably just C&V, still excited! Maybe it's a recorded version of C&V?! that would be the best thing ever. but it's probably not
Trina Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Yeah, I'm assuming it wont be C&V or anything else like that since he put Jesse/green day... It must be something they did together! By Jesse, do you guys think it's probably Jesse Malin, yeah? Eeeeep! I'm excited! Hope we're not let down! Maybe if we all bombard him with questions he'll fill us in a little?! Ask on FB!
elisa Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 Edit: As you said, since he did put Jesse/Green Day maybe just something they worked on together. Didn't Bob Gruen post on his website pictures of the band playing/writing in some studio with Jesse Malin?
Kaddi. Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 As i think about this more, I think that's much less likely. I really doubt they would already have a version of that they sent off without it being mastered or anything like that. Plus, if it was, I doubt he'd say "jesse/green day" Yeah, I know. It was just wishful thinking I guess. But even if it's only a song by Jesse Malin and Green Day together, it would be still awesome. I love Jesse's music.
Laura! Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 If it is something with Jesse Malin, why didn't the official site post something about it?
Guest Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 *Gets excited* Even though it's probably nothing D:
jtdscape Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 The song is called "Depression Times". Green Day and Jesse Malin went into the studio around May 2009 and wrote it and it was produced by Bob Gruen.

Trina Posted November 7, 2010 Author Posted November 7, 2010 Is this station broadcasted online? I think so! http://www.1019rxp.com/Other/1019RXP_Stream.html I don't know if it would be proper new stuff so soon after the end of the tour though Jesse is based in NYC and there's been recent(ish) photos of them hanging around. They've been there a lot cause of the musical and all so they would have had time then to bang something out, hopefully!

Fuzz Posted November 7, 2010 Posted November 7, 2010 If it is something with Jesse Malin, why didn't the official site post something about it? Really? Because the official site waits to post news till they get it from GDA.
