Holly
But I love my ipod Meh, I suppose wishing death on someone isn't the nicest thing ever but I don't really think it matters at all. I'm sure I've done it plenty of times when I've been angry. Also, this really angry Billie voice is kinda scary, I actually sat watching this like.. .:Whatsername:.
I see it as putting on a show. That's all it is to me. I don't know, I think this whole "I hate technology" thing is something Billie puts on for the fans. When he talks about it in interviews he does have an opinion on it, but not that it's so horrible that he'll stay away from it all. He obviously uses cell phones and computers and everything. I'm not bothered over it. The Steve Jobs thing was I'll even admit, a bit harsh, but like I said, it's a rock concert and imo, he was just trying to get the crowd riled up. That's what it looks like to me.
Hermione
I don't think there's any big deal with this "speech". Its just like the Billie of old. When he gets on stage he gets super-hyped up and anything that happens makes him react in a happy, silly or angry way. He just says what he wants. He opens his mouth and out it comes. Reliance on technology does annoy him even though he knows he has to live with it. Doesn't mean he likes it because he uses it. And the Steve Jobs comment was to get a reaction. It was the worst thing he could think of so he said it. Its in a live show on the spur of the moment, not in a recorded or written interview when I'm sure he's much more careful what he says. I actually love angry Billie. It shows him as a real person with whose not afraid to let his emotions show. Exactly how I see it. I personally disagree with him about technology and find some of his views on it to be over-the-top and at times ridiculous. But they're his views and he's free to express them. When he's on stage he lays his emotions bare. If he's happy he'll be ecstatic and grinning, and on the other side of that if he's pissed off he'll be spitting with anger. Technology is something that can piss him off so that's what happened - at a calmer time he might not've said the same things but in the heat of the moment that's how he felt . He's an intense performer who throws everything he's feeling out to the crowd, no holds barred.........I wouldn't want it any other way.

parinaz
I can't believe he said that about Steve jobs. I mean not liking him is one thing but saying you can't wait for him to die was a bit over the top. Even if Steve jobs did die the damage he has caused to the music industry is done, and if Steve jobs didn't destroy it someone else would have. The fact that he said dies of cancer was a bit tasteless too considering Billie just preformed at the stand up to cancer benifit gig over a month ago. I think this would fall into the catogory of Billie being very stupid and not thinking about what he was saying. Billie must have been really pissed off that day. he may not have had a good sex the previous night. or might be drunk as always. I figured all the girls (and guys) who loved Billie so much would be touching themselves to this. Anger isn't sexy these days? anger or... stupidity? :eyebrow:

Caractériel
The Steve Jobs comment was harsh. Considering he has been pretty ill with cancer over the last few years. You can't go wishing death on someone just because they are the boss of a multi billion dollar corporation. The Obama comment sums up what a lot of people who voted for him are thinking right now, he's just frustrated. To be honest, I don't think Billie should be complaining so much about corporations and technology when they are signed to a major label, sponsored by huge companies and put their name to things like Rock Band and other forms of merchandise. †...HAUSHINKA...†
I think before 21 guns he told people if they put their cameras away or phones or something that they would play longer. Sounds like he definitely had something going on that night, maybe he is just ready to go home because he is sick of us. I think they dying part was a bit much, IMO, but then again I don't really care about his opinion so I imagine he doesn't care about mine. I don't understand whta's the probelm..people can see them maybe just one time in many years and they can't be free to record one of the best day of their life?!?! I can't understand it! I personally don't record anything but I totally understand who does it...

I can't understand it! I personally don't record anything but I totally understand who does it... yep me too, I didn't record it but if I had a better cell phone I would have recorded something, but I think, he says that cause he wants to show that he really doesn't like so much technology or he doesn't like that everybody in the world can see this, he wants that it's a concert just for the people who are there, maybe^^

Because Jobs traveled to an 'unidentified hospital' Tennessee for a liver transplant due to his cancer last year --- And the only reason he got that transplant so easily and ahead of people who needed it more than him was because he used his vast amounts of money to game the organ donation system. I figured all the girls (and guys) who loved Billie so much would be touching themselves to this. Anger isn't sexy these days? Hermione
Yeah I'd hate to be filming or taking pictures during a show, but not everyone's the same and some people enjoy doing it. Good for them, I certainly enjoy watching what they've filmed . At the same time just as we're free to like or dislike filming during a show, Billie's also free to like or dislike it and let us know exactly what he thinks! That's all he's done.......he's free to say what he wants on his own stage innit.

Thats what pisses me off about that guy My uncle is on a donation list and if there would be people like steve jobs stealing those rare organs away from people who really really need them then where would we be ? That's insane but i guess that's how the world works...money is the key to everything...sadly

Even though that is pretty sad that he was able to use his wealth to gain an advantage, saying "I can't wait til Steve Jobs dies of cancer" is extremely harsh and insensitive. I understand he hates the idea of Jobs being able to buy himself treatment, but he's a human being. Just like the rest of us.
TheSaltOfTheEarth
Wow, someone's a little angry... But, I don't find it THAT offensive or shocking or anything. I mean, c'mon, it's Billie. He wrote 'Platypus' for crying out loud. I guess the 'die of cancer' thing was unnecessary though. Though I think ALL of us have wished someone death at one point in our lives. It's not like he was really that serious. We all know how BJ is about technology and videos at GD concerts and stuff. Maybe he got a bit too worked up here, but hey. It happens to the best of us. Yeah but have you honestly, never ever not once in your life, blurted out something like "I wish they'd die" in a fit of anger? It's not that you would mean it, it's just an impulse. You're angry, you say the vilest things that come to mind.
November's Storms
I think that he says: "I can't wait for Steve Jobs to die of fucking cancer" ^ that was not cool at all Sure its a little over the top, but I fully agree with everything Billie said during that song. Fully.
