'cause I can't understand the first 2 sentences but the rest of the speech seems to be really good so I want to know it entirely...thank you...
bollard_11 Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Wow thats a badass speech, I cannot make out the start either!! Off topic: Does Billies guitar there have a white scratchguard? I have not seen that before . . .
Vaso.Of.Suburbia Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I think that he says: "I can't wait for Steve Jobs to die of fucking cancer" ^ that was not cool at all
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 I think that he says: "I can't wait for Steve Jobs to die of fucking cancer" ok...if it's right he destroyed the good that was in the next words...
SixtiesJunkiie Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 damn that steve jobs comments was fucked up. but i agree that technology has done a lot of bad (despite all the good it has also done.)
Slappy. Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Theres something in there about Barack Obama can go to hell...he seems a bit over the top there but hey, its just his opinion I guess.
tumuch Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I didn't understand anything, someone can help me please ? thx
LinziLetterbomb Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 "I can't wait for Steve Jobs to die of fucking cancer! Barrack Obama can go to fucking hell too! Technology is fucking ruining everything! Technology is ruining everything! Technology has destroyed civilization! Do you want ... Do you wanna LIVE?! Do you wanna live?! Do you wanna live?! Do you wanna fucking live?! Do you wanna live?! Do you wanna live?! Do you wanna fucking live?! Do you wanna DIE behind a fucking screen?! Is that whatcha want?! Or do you wanna fucking LIVE?! This is ALIVE! We are fucking ALIVE! We are ALIVE! VIVA LIMA!!!!" this is what he said! What a rant!!
sara_gd Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 "I can't wait for Steve Jobs (co-founder of Apple and Pixar) to die of fucking cancer. Barak Obama could go to fucking hell too"? maybe? Edit: late, sorry
blueboy Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 If you go to the Peru thread, you'll find the complete "speech"

JeanJeanie Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 He made a good point, but this also really remind me of why I'm going to D.C. this weekend.
pasalaska Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 He's more than entitled to his own opinion but wishing death upon anyone isnt a very nice thing to do

spark in the night Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 lol Billie, we got proof that you shopped at the Apple Store and we got proof that you support Obama you shup crazy boi I think he also said something about youtube He's made several past statements about how he feels about phones, camera phones, recording at GD concerts. He wants kids to put their cameras away and enjoy the fucking show. I can understand that. I don't know how all these people can just stand there and record songs on video and still enjoy the show. Why watch the concert through your phone screen, or digital camera screen, when you can watch it live! watch it there! right as its happening! no pixels! just your plain old eyes.
†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 lol Billie, we got proof that you shopped at the Apple Store and we got proof that you support Obama yes...so I think that soemthign happened to him...I just can't imagine what but he really seemed so pissed off...
RobyRoom Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 Wow A bit extreme, it's a punch in the stomach, I think he wanted to leave us with a powerful message, and what better than politically incorrect words to shake the consciences. In short GDC has to die
LinziLetterbomb Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 he might have just been having a 'i hate everyone' kind of day...

I didn't look at my camera when I recorded on video in a Green Day concert. I looked at it sometimes, just in case I was pointing the floor and that kind of stuff, but I think it's nice to have a memory in the shape of a video... It deppends on each person I suppose. But if you're going to watch it through a screen as you said, then I agree.
lizziebix Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 If you go to the Peru thread, you'll find the complete "speech" I was going to say the same thing. Not sure why it needs it's own thread since the same conversation is happening in the Peru tour thread. Just saying...
GDM Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 I don't even want to think about what he thinks that we here know about this rant because of the power of... TECHNOLOGY. lol.

But if you're going to watch it through a screen as you said, then I agree. but still, you have the burden of being consciously aware that you are holding onto a camera and in a way, you cant fully participate in the show experience. If you didn't have a camera your full attention could be on the show and you could dance and fling your arms around and be absorbed into everything that was going on. You wouldn't have to keep remembering to check your camera screen to make sure it wasn't pointed at the floor, or to make sure that nobody bumped into you so that you wouldn't drop your camera. Before technology, people went to shows and had the memories in their head, along with maybe a saved ticket stub. I think that's the point that Billie is trying to make. People are so absorbed in technology that they have to take it with them everywhere and it can affect the way people interact and enjoy a concert Besides, unless you are standing perfectly still and you were able to sneak in a really fancy camera, those concert videos are shit anyway. They are loud, hard to listen to sometimes because of all the background noise, and the video quality is crap. Why waste your time recording a crappy quality video, when you can just enjoy it in front of your eyes and have the mental memories? I'm not attacking you btw, I'm just saying in general.
farley drexel hatcher Posted October 28, 2010 Posted October 28, 2010 It's not nice at all but then, this is the dude that wrote Platypus.

I don't think it distracted me, really. I just put a hand in the barrier and hold the camera there, checking it sometimes, yeah, but when I wasn't recording (I obvioustly didn't record the full concert) I don't think I enjoyed it more or anything. But it deppends on each person. Yeah, they are crap xD But I don't mind about that, it's just something to remind me that moment that I like to have

Kels, I hear what youre saying and completely see your point, on the other hand, I like taking pictures during a show. It doesn't mess it up or ruin it for me. And in my opinion I paid for my ticket so I can do whatever the fuck I want when I am there, and could care less what he thinks about it. If that makes sense.♥
