GDJonny Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I'v noticed throughout the 21st Century Breakdown Tour that Green Day are at their best when it comes to live performances. We all know that they've always put on more of a show then a music concert, but for this current tour, I believe they're at their peak. Your thoughts? EDIT: I meant "peak of their career so far"
Devan Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I don't think thay're at their peak, because that would mean they can only go down. No, I think they're somewhere where thay can still think of new ideas and improve. Even though their live show is definately one of the best, especially this tour, they can always think of something to top themselves.

Your thoughts? I totally agree. Maybe I'm a little bit biased because this was my first time seeing them, but I feel like the more mature they become and the deeper they go to find inspiration, the better the connection they have with the crowd when they perform the songs. It's no longer about just going completely crazy during a show (although that's part of it, of course). Now it seems like they really think everything through to make sure every show is the best it can be.

Agreed, I kinda meant their at they're peak of their career so far
Comedy & Tragedy Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 They aim to be better than they were before. In Bullet In A Bible, Billie says that American Idiot was the best tour that they were ever on. They're definitely making sure they put on one of the best shows ever, but I would imagine that they're next tour will be even more amazing (this is Green Day we're talking about, it is possible ). That's what I love about them, enough is never enough, there's always someway they can make themselves even more amazing, and we never know what they'll do next
euphoric-pareidolias Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 yeah, they just try to be better and better and i think they would be disappointed if they felt they did a concert that didnt live up to peoples expetations so they feel the need to try and constantly top each performance they do which i think is a great thing about them cos it shows they care about what they do and how their fans see them!
Micky Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 They're getting better and better in every tour. That's the best way to have new fans and to make them want to go to their shows. I always say that Green Day concerts are one of the best things ever on this earth, mostly because they're more than simple concerts
Margo 39 smooth Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Thats totally true. I also love how hard they try to give their fans as much interaction as possible on this tour. Its good that they realize how much it means to their fans.
St3veHimself Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah I agree. They just get better every tour. If you go back and watch BIAB and then watch MTV World Stage, you can tell they got better IMO.
fadi_7 Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 this tour was the best one but they have more energy to put in the concerts
YehItsRyan Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Bands get better as time goes on, so will Green Day. The 21st CB tour has been a good one and I cant wait for their next tour.
solongfromthestars Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 Yeah this tour was amazing, but then they really are always amazing live. I agree with what everyone said though, they can always get better just because they're Green Day.
Isabel Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I don't normally think about them reaching their peak or whether or not they can/will get better; I just appreciate the present moment and be so thankful that they are amazing as they are right now.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 I think they're absolutely great now, and we can't know what the future brings. I'm enjoying the present, and if they get even better in the future, then I'm not complaining. I don't think they're definitely at their peak, because when you're on your peak, you can only go down, and it wouldn't surprise me if they get even better after this, or at least maintain the "level" they're on now.
Four. Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 They are surpressing themselves constantly, but I agree with what was said above, the always find ways to top what they've done before. I personally think they're always at their peak, or the peak just moves higher up for each tour. Honestly, I think Green Day themselves are the peak of what you can reach when you put on a live show
NickD Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 "peak" is the wrong word. as someone mentioned, it means they've reached the top and have nowhere else to go but down. "prime" is a better word to use

Rage & Love. Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Billie and the crew are ALWAYS making their own peak, getting up to the top, and constantly climbing. on there llamas
Laura! Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 One of the things I love Green Day most for is their live shows. I haven't seen a band yet who is anywhere close to beating Green Day live. Ever since I've gotten into them I thought they were amazing live, they can only get better from here. I just wish I could have seen them since they've started touring and gone to one show each tour just to see how they changed.
pasalaska Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 GD certianly think that they are getting better and better if their tweets are anything to go by Tonight was the best show in the history of green day! Argentina is the best gig we ever had! Absolutely the best. Highlight?- all songs bj. but I don't think peak is the right word, because it implies that they can only go down or stay at the time. I do think though that they are played the best shows of their careers this tour. I've never been to a better live show, and I've been to a fair few shows
-Billiejoezee- Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Billieve me they can get better. :shifty;
E!!i Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I loved this tour but I wished I had been on the american idiot tour, was it less great than this one?
dawn71 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 I have been to 26 or 27 Green Day concerts over the past 19 years, starting in 1991. Green Day has always been at the top of their game. When Green Day does a concert they leave their heart and more out on there on the stage. They always give all they have to the fans. Different elements may have changed in their live performances but that comes with experience. I have never been to a Green Day concert that they didn't give their all and leave it all out there on the stage for there fans. Green Day has never held back anything. They have always been at the top of their game if you ask me. Green Day has,is and always will be at the top of their game, and as for peaking there isn't a peak high enough in this world to measure Green Day's performance. So there is no way to measure their performances. No one concert is the same as the last or will be the same as the next. They are all unique. I contribute that to the fact that every audience is different, and Green Day treats them as such. Because their concerts are not just about Green Day it's also about every single audience member. We are all a part of their performances, and they make sure we all feel that experience. Green Day acts like they are just as blown away by their fans as we are by them. They feed off of us just like we feed off of them in their concerts. It's a symbiotic relationship that Green Day has with their fans during their concerts. When Green Day gets out on the stage it's blood, sweat, tears, attitude, and music all wrapped up in an I don't give a fuck mentality. How could you possibly measure that?
