Who You've Gotten Into Green Day.

I'm sure everyone on here is a huge, and if not, a pretty big Green Day fan. And I'm sure everyone and their mother knows that. Seriously, we do weird things, and people get the idea we like Green Day. xD

I have a nephew, and he's only two. And he's madly in love with Billie Joe Armstrong. Because when he was about a year old, I'd take my headphones and hand them over his ears, so he could listen to the music, and well, his first favorite song was 'Holiday'. (:

The kid can barely put sentences together but he can sing 21 Guns, Minority, Jesus Of Suburbia, and oh so many more Green Day songs. He plays his rockband/GH guitars or the RB drums while humming the tune to JOS, and he insists that I play him songs on a real guitar so he can rock out.

He refers to Billie as 'Gee Joe', and the band 'Geen Day'.

I tried getting friends into Green Day when I was first getting to them myself, but they didn't care and only got annoyed.

But ever since I took my friend to see American Idiot with St. Billie a few weeks ago, I think she's starting to get into their music more. She made me send her MP3's of most of their albums. I hope she becomes a fan.

My husband is a bigger fan because of me. He knew of Dookie but that was it. I bought Superhits and from there he began to listen to more of their older music. We were both able to enjoy AI and 21CB together. My husband still thinks I am a crazy obsessed fan who would run away with GD without giving a second thought to him if the opportunity arose. I'm not that bad, I would give him a second thought...

My sister can now listen to more than two songs (that were Wake Me Up When September Ends and Boulevard of Broken Dreams), but she's not a fan. Definitely.

But my best friend is, now, which makes me all She's become one because I asked her to come with me to both the concerts I went to, and it was love at first sight (obviously, we're talking about Green Day). She had even more fun than me. Now she has all their albums and I can finally talk about the band with someone (even if not that much as I do here )

That's all, because my dad doesn't even know they exist (he's been asking for years whwo the guys in my posters are) and my mum just hates them, because she says their songs are all the same

My brother , he is only 3 but he can sing a lot of Green Day songs. He always wants to listen them

Nobody really.. When I try to talk about Green Day, or try to let people listen to them, they keep saying they don't like or hate the music.

But.. I'm always playing Green Day music at home, and a while ago I waited till MTV/TMF were playing GD videos, and turned up the volume. My younger brothers know a bit more Green Day songs this way, and at least they're not saying they suck. My mom (which surprised me) kinda likes them too! She's more of a "quiet/slow/pop" song person, when looking at a band like Green Day. She likes songs like Good Riddance, Wake Me Up When September Ends, 21 Guns and Last Night On Earth. Things that made me smile were when the LOTAG video was shown on MTV for the first couple of times. I kept saying I didn't like the choice to make it a single/they should've chosen Static Age etc.. But my mother said she likes the song! Omg, awesome. And once, maybe with my Birthday or so, I played Green Day albums in the living room all day. I was playing 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy Hours and Kerplunk, and my mother said she liked it! She was surprised when I said it was Green Day as well, she didn't know at first

Her wallpaper on her phone is Green Day, her ringtone is longview, she listens to them in the car, she downloads videos from youtube, she went to their show in perth, she knitted me a mike doll and a rev doll. My favourite moment was when she mmsed me the photo of the rev that she knitted, cause she couldn't wait till I got home to show me, and with the picture she wrote "it's fuck time!"

I have gotten all of my children into Green Day. But my three year old son is the one who is into them the most... He is crazy about Green Day. He knows most of their songs and always sings along. He won't let us listen to anything else in the car. If we try to put on anything besides Green Day, he says, "it's too boring". He can name most Green Day albums if you show them to him(although, he has a funny nickname for Dookie which is "Funnel", not sure why and he calls American Idiot the musical soundtrack-Spider American Idiot, I think because of the picture on the back of the CD case). He loves to play Green Day Rockband. He gets really into it as well, he jumps all over the place while swinging his guitar about in Billie Joe Armstrong style and shouts, "c'mon" "hey-oh" and "get your hands up in the air"(He's watched Bullet in a Bible far too many times, I fear). If I am on the computer watching Green Day videos on Youtube, he comes running over and has to watch too. If you show him pictures of the band members he can name them. He also drums on everything in sight with his drum sticks. Rock star in the making, perhaps? He was born on the 4th of May, 2007....born to be a fan, I guess.

My mum already loved GD as much as I do, we always go on our GD adventures together and stuff. She's an epic GD companion. I managed to get one of my friends to get into them and she says she might go to a show when they come back to the UK. Otherwise though everyone thinks I'm crazy. I tried to get this girl I used to be friends with at school to at least appreciate that they're talented, but all she does is go on about how all Green Day fans are mentally challenged and that they're "really strange". And she likes to say things like "how can you actually want to pay money to see what is basically just three old guys smoking weed?"

Most of my friends think I'm pretty crazy and obsessed with green day, however a shy girl in my class told me that she had downloaded some of American Idiot because of how much I went on about them, and she likes green day now so I feel pretty accomplished there

Others of my friends have started to like them too but not hugely, as most of my friends are into standard mainstream music

I got my brother to like them for a day but that didnt last...

Still, i'm not giving up on making people fans
