Billie throwing guitar:

Green Rio's new single, the title track from the new album "Rio":

Listener Submission

From: stephanieSUFFOKATION

I was waiting for my next class to start and was sitting at a table doing my psychology homework. As i was scanning through the chapter, I came across a picture that caught my eye and looked quite familiar. I thought 'nahh, it cant be..' then i read the little excerpt next to the picture: "Members of the music group Green Day (and their audience) are potenial victims of noise-induced nerve deafness that is irreversible." This brought a smile to my face, never expecting to see Billie Joe playing guitar in my psychology textbook. This made the rest of the day so much better. I tried not to laugh since where I was sitting was hella queit.

Yeah, updating the podcast in my itunes right now! :D Looks like it will be a great episode again.

I fucking love the listener submission this week. Seriously epic!

Seriously, though: Always wear musician quality earplugs to shows, boys and girls. I used to go to all shows with my ears naked and free, but I've actually permanently damaged my hearing in my left ear because I allowed my ears to experience naked freedom at the wrong times.

It's not intensely noticeable, but I now have a slight ringing in my left ear from attending several extremely loud local shows several years ago. I've started using earplugs when going to shows now, to stop any further damage, but what's been done is done, unfortunately.

I'm just glad it's not as bad as it could be!

Thanks - fixed the links.

Whenever I try to download the podcast onto my iTunes, it says the connection timed out after I click 'Refresh.' I then tried unsubscribing and reconnecting everything but it still won't download the episode because "the connection timed out." Is it not working for anyone else?

Tony's back! Yay!

When I saw the video where Billie tore off his shirt, I was thinking it was more of a Hulk moment like, "Billie angry! Billie, Jesus of Suburbia!!!" And, like Tony said, Billie seems to get into that angry mood at times but it's all in the heat of the moment. Didn't a group of GDCers mention Billie throwing a mic and a guitar during one of the North American tour dates? It's the adrenaline and I'm not shocked or horrified; he's in a mode and if things aren't at the same speed as him, he'll toss it or get 'angry.' But his St. Jimmy high is still going, apparently.

I know all these people are going to say that they miss Mikey and stuff so I'm going to say it. Jimmy is a kick-ass kid! I miss Jimmy but I'm not going to mention it every time. Just, y'know, some love for past guests.

Oh and my parents and family always let me know when Green Day stuff comes on. Haha! Just today, my mom called me while she was driving and said, "They're playing 'Holiday' on the radio right now!" I love when people who are close to a Green Day fan mention Green Day stuff that they see or hear even when they don't care or like the band at all. It's just nice.

Just thought I'd mention my blog post on one of BJ's guitars and the interview he did in Venezuela about a potential new album...

Green Day Mind: Billie Joe's Guitar - Not Blue - Gibson Harmony Hollow Body

And are you sure the MTV World Stage thing will only be in Europe? It seems that it's being preliminarily advertised on US newspaper sites, too?

And great that you mentioned the Collab video finally.

Just done listening to it now  Loved it!

Really happy the collab video got mentioned too :D By the way, the original picture of Billie & the Platypus was done by Greendaycomix on Deviantart.com. Link If anyone's interested :)

By the way, are we gonna hear more tour stories from Tony soon? :eyebrow:

EDIT: Oh yeah, and the title made me smile, since I'm going to see Bowling For Soup on Friday :whistle

Great episode guys!

my mum points out GD-related things to me now too, she even had a GD-realted dream once. She also tries to make GD jokes but they usually fall flat, but I guess it's the thought that counts :D

Just listened! :) Thank you guys so much for talking about the collab videos! and Tony talking about our Green Day site seeing tour really brought back so many memories, I wanna go back soooo bad!!

That is so awesome them being in a school book. I wonder what they would think of that.

I bet Billie would get a kick out of that, seeing is he never finished school himself.

Matt: *yawn*

I enjoyed listening this week :) Though I was half distracted...what I heard I loved.

Haven't listened to this one yet, I'm a bit behind with the podcasts. I'd just like to say that I am seeing Green Day for the first time on Friday, and since I am not going to be on the next podcast next week, I am going to send an email with my ~story and you guys should totally read it during said podcast.

We will. I don't care what anyone says :P
