craziestcatlady Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I've had my eye on Nobody Likes You: Inside the Turbulent Life, Times, and Music of Green Day for a while, but I was wondering if this is actually a good biography. Any suggestions?
pasalaska Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Nobody Likes You is proabably the best, even though there are a few errors in there (and a 'Billy'). There's also 'Green Day: Rebels With a Cause' by Gillian Gaar which isnt bad. I've got pretty much all the bio books, and I'd say go with Nobody Likes You
Velocity Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 ^I agree, I've skimmed through a few of the books and Nobody Likes You seems to be the one that doesn't have any real mistakes.
LouLou Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I have Nobody Likes you and thought it was pretty good. It was an interesting read and as others have said not too many errors.
xjernpqvrnbfv Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I'd say Nobody Likes You. There's also another one, written by Alex Hannaford (?) which has Green Day Authority in the credits
Just Kate Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 i don't have any bio book but the one i'm still lurking around for has always been Nobody Likes You cos i have heard it's the best wish i could read it
musse Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I have a book called Green Day: American Idiots And The New Punk Explosion by Ben Myers and I really liked it (it was way better than Myers' book about Muse...). Haven't read Nobody Likes You but I've been thinking about getting it
pasalaska Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 this is a link to all the GD books: http://www.greendayauthority.com/books.php if you go onto the amazon links provided you'll be able to read reviews.
Anja Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I love "American Idiots and the New Punk Explosion" by Ben Myers but Nobody likes you is also a great book! I would recommend both. The one by Alex Hannaford has some nice pictures in there but it's not really worth reading (maybe for newer fans but the info in there is basically just info hardcore fans know already) I own all the other books as well but I haven't read it yet So I can only recommend the first two to you.
E!!i Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I have the books Green Day: American Idiots and the New Punk Explosion, Nobody Likes You & Green Day from Alex Hannaford and I think Nobody likes you is the best one
Pupulainen Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I've read Nobody Likes You, Rebels With a Cause and American Idiots And The New Punk Explosion. I liked Rebels With a Cause the most, and it's also the newest one I think, although the other two aren't bad either. American Idiots And The New Punk Explosion was a bit annoying sometimes because (in my opinion) the writer included his own opinions on things a bit too much. Of course they all mostly talk about the same things, but there are some differences too, so if you like reading, just read all of them.
Tubbie Head Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I really want to buy Nobody likes you, because many fans suggest it. But, I need to find a good price XD
abhishek Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 its good but hardly has new stuff that you dont know already....the rise fall and rise part is excellent.
GDM Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Yea, Nobody Likes You is the best, but frankly, they all suck.
Guest Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I've only read "Green Day: American Idiots And The New Punk Explosion" I thought it was good!
Smoothed Out Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I thought Nobody Likes You was a brilliant book, I loved reading it as a fan and being interested in finding out more etc. In my opinion the best out there
sara_gd Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I read American Idiots and the new punk explosion and I really liked it. I don't own it though, and I was thinking on buy it, but now that you mention that Nobody likes you one, I don't know which one to get Is it different from the one I read, anyone knows?
