failure00 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Can you describe how the song "Wonderful" sounded? Did it sound like any previous songs? Thanks.
Eirik Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Wonderful wasn't in Heart Like A Hand Grenade, it was recorded the day after Barack Obama won the presidential election. Billie Joe played it for Butch Vig (and probably at some point Mike and Tre), and that's it. The unreleased song played in HLAHG is the now released song When It's Time, it was performed twice in the movie, once on an acoustic guitar and once on the piano. Both times were Billie solo.

kerplunk_chick Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 i want this to be released more than almost anything. but i don't think it's going to happen.
call_debbie Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 I want to hear the song !! Do you have a clip or sth ?
Eirik Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 On the piano by Billie solo? I didn't know that! Wow, I'd love to hear it. Yeah, so the people who saw it said. If it ever gets released we'll get to hear it. I want to hear the song !! Do you have a clip or sth ? Nope. There is no clip of Wonderful, unfortunately. Vig said that most bands would kill to have that song on their record.
JohannaRaeRamone. Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 Nope. There is no clip of Wonderful, unfortunately. Vig said that most bands would kill to have that song on their record. And so GD do not release it. They work in mysterious ways for sure. When has HLAHG been shown? There was a premiere event, right?
*withoutadoubt* Posted October 7, 2010 Posted October 7, 2010 And so GD do not release it. They work in mysterious ways for sure. When has HLAHG been shown? There was a premiere event, right? yep, once in March 2009 in Hollywood.
Metanoia Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 billie playing a solo on piano? i wanna see it
PasalacquaBomb Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 What? I don't get that. I thought HLAHG is being produced by now? Somebody clear me up please!
pasalaska Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 ^^^ Last I heard, HLAHG was being release sometime in the first half of next year I've never even heard of this 'Wonderful' song. I am most curious now.
Metanoia Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 I'm so confused! people are like "its going to be released" and the next secon someone else says it won't i wanna know the fucking truth! lol at overacting post
Katarina. Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 John Roecker finished the HLAHG movie a while ago, and around 500 (?) lucky people got to see it last year I think. He's busy now editing the extra tapes, which is bonus material. He keeps saying on facebook the movie is going to be released early next year, which most likely is true (at least I hope so!) but nothing has been confirmed! That's all I know, and what I've read on here and on his facebook. I think we should just wait till Green Day themselves (on their site or something) confirm it will get released, and give us a release date. CANNOT WAIT.
Metanoia Posted October 9, 2010 Posted October 9, 2010 I want to trust him but Roecker confuses me anyways
kerplunk_chick Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 i asked about this on a questions thread and someone told me that Green Day and their management has not confirmed it's release so it is not a sure thing. Just a rumor. dream killers.
Whatsername1911 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 All this talk is making me REALLY excited. eeeeeeeeep
J'net Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I was at the premiere of the movie with Andres and several other members from GDC. Andres and I collaborated on a recap/review, which you can find in the Editorials section of GDA. As noted above, the song "Wonderful" was not included in the movie, but the song "When It's Time" was performed twice by Billie - once on acoustic guitar and once on piano. If the movie is truly going to be released next year, my guess is that it will be a significantly edited version from what we saw in Hollywood at the premiere.
BasKerplunCase Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I want to see this movie soo bad. Been waiting for a long time, since I heard about it.
veroPasalacqua Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Wow. Omg Im so excited and wanna see this so badly!!!!
BreakdownBrit Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 Reading about this I really would love to see it too...
BasKerplunCase Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 I have a good feeling that it'll be released. I mean, Green Day did say things about it. and they never let any of us down. So.
Bohemian+Scandal Posted October 12, 2010 Posted October 12, 2010 If the movie is truly going to be released next year, my guess is that it will be a significantly edited version from what we saw in Hollywood at the premiere. How so, J'net?
J'net Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 How so, J'net? Well, it was very long (and we saw it after John had cut it down from 3 hours). It had serious problems with the audio in some sections. There was some content that didn't seem that necessary to advance the movie; and there was some that I think Green Day, their families, and or Warner Bros might not want to see released for public consumption. All that said, there were moments of incredible brilliance (as Andres and I discussed in our recap/review for GDA). I hope it does get released because it's hard to remember much of a movie that I only saw once ... so long ago ...
