shariw Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 OMG... I possibly heard the most offensive thing on the radio this morning. The local AM radio station I listen to traffic reports on was playing a promo for Glenn Beck's talk show. He was saying something about American idiots as a category of people and was playing Green Day's American Idiot in the background!!!!!!!! He is quite possibly the reigning King of Idiots.... and how dare he use GD music in his promos! I was truly sick to my stomach. I really, really, really wonder if GD knows this is going on? This is a reprehensible act!!!!!!!!!!! How can we let GD know about this?
Little Girl Little One Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I don't even know who Glenn Beck is. I guess it's an American thing?
Trotsky Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I'm sure Green Day would personally object. Much like The Foo Fighters objecting to McCain using their songs during the election season. It inspired an article called "Stop using my songs, Republicans!" Unfortunately songs are not the property of Green Day but of Warner who will give use to anyone who pays a small royalty. I don't even know who Glenn Beck is. I guess it's an American thing? Well where are you from? If you're British, liken him to the BNP. If you're Canadian... I don't know, you're all less insane up there.
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Oh the irony! It's hard to believe the man is not one big satire artist. It's also very sad that he is serious. Now everybody do the propaganda. And sing along to the age of paranoia. It fits Beck like a glove, huh?
idiot4u Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 just the thought turns the stomach, but what does it say about Glenn Beck? Does he not get the meaning behind AI?
Mar Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Ugh. Seriously, Glenn is the epitome of the dangers of "one nation controlled by the media."
shariw Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 I don't even know who Glenn Beck is. I guess it's an American thing? Hopefully you don't have to be subjected to this monstrous jerk where you live. He is an ultra-conservative, hate-speaking, bleep-bleep, that thinks he is the messiah... Fox News and Clear Channel radio stations promote his own special brand of ignorance, hatred, bigotry and war-mongering... Just a truly disgusting individual. just the thought turns the stomach, but what does it say about Glenn Beck? Does he not get the meaning behind AI? I have a feeling neither Beck nor whatever flunkie decided to use AI on his radio promo has any idea who GD even is and what the song is about. I can't imagine they would use the song if they had even half a brain in their head to actually listen and hear the content of the song... They are too stupid and mindf*^%ed to listen!

I don't know, you're all less insane up there. Yeah, I'm Canadian. Reading this comments though... Wow, he sounds like a total ass. I'm sure we have people like that here, but I'm glad none of them managed quite the level of infamy as he seems to have achieved.

Velocity Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Ugh. I wonder if Beck realizes that HE'S the kind of person that American Idiot is directed at? If it weren't for his thousands (millions?!) of followers I would actually think that he's kind of hilarious. But the influence he has on people is actually really scary.
Punk-tastic32 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Am I the only one that doesn't mind the guy? Sure I don't agree with everything he says, but I can listen to him for awhile to hear his opinion. His conspiracy theory-esque ideas are also fun to watch sometimes. EDIT: then again, I haven't seen him since he was on CNN

Well you certainly may be in the minority among GD fans... Am I the only one that doesn't mind the guy? I truly believe he is insane and believes he is some sort of messiah....

I haven't sat through a full episode because I don't get Fox News as part of my cable package. I do have the two books he's written, and I admit there is a bit of a difference between the CNN and Fox-era ones. But I didn't know his TV self is different. Kinda sad.
FiaKels Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Can you imagine all the people who are laughing at Beck right now? God, he's really shooting himself in the foot. We all know that this music can be looked at in many different ways, but seriously, Glenn? Take that talking neck off your shoulders and replace it with a fucking head. Please.
karma1215 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Guy's got good taste in music that's for sure
Trotsky Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 just the thought turns the stomach, but what does it say about Glenn Beck? Does he not get the meaning behind AI? You're talking about the guy who attacks Obama for being an alleged anti-colonialist while saying we need to set America up in the true vision of the founding fathers. Who, you know, rebelled against being a colony. Logic does not penetrate this cunt's brain nor his magic underwear. Am I the only one that doesn't mind the guy? Sure I don't agree with everything he says, but I can listen to him for awhile to hear his opinion. His conspiracy theory-esque ideas are also fun to watch sometimes. EDIT: then again, I haven't seen him since he was on CNN He was still kind of a tool when he was on CNN but his mental collapse has been only more recent. Still though, he was always a total douche.
Anko Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 He's just so fucking condicending. There was an episode where he wouldn't shut up about Homer Simpson and fat people.
shariw Posted October 5, 2010 Author Posted October 5, 2010 Beck said more stupid shit in the last few days... "Mr. Beck was criticizing President Obama’s efforts to reform health care, legitimately criticizing increased insurance rates as a by-product of the reform bill passed last spring. But as Mr. Beck got deep into a metaphor of “enslaving people” with health care, somehow things took a dramatic turn toward lunacy. At one point he claimed that slavery “started with seemingly innocent ideas” and then “the government began to regulate things,” then finished by asking if, by reforming health care, “are we creating slaves”?."
Trotsky Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Media Matters basically keeps track of the constant fountain of shit that flows out of his mouth. There is no need to even figure out what is most ridiculous.
