deadgirl Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 could you live without Green Day or even a day without talking and even listening to GD? It may sound simple but my friend dared me to not talk or listen to GD for a whole day. I thought I was going to go crazy. so I want to know if any of you could do the same thing or would you just go mad.
Fuzz Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I have gone weeks without listening to them. Usually when a new album comes out from another band, I get obsessive and listen to that one over and over for a while.
deadgirl Posted September 18, 2010 Author Posted September 18, 2010 really, I think I could. but I'm goning to try
alligunn86 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 man... living without green day?! I would be one very very lost person... I can't even imagine it.. they are such a big part of my life. I don't think I could do it.
PeaceMucker Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I could go a while without Green Day. Favorite band? Yes. Addicted to them like meth? No.
clairemarie Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Yeah, same here. I don't listen to them every single day. But some days, I only listen to their stuff. It just depends what mood I'm in, really. If I'm feeling especiallly pissed off that day, you bet your ass you're going to hear them blasting from my speakers. As far as talking about them goes, eh, not so much. Pretty much 'cause my best friend really doesn't like them and the only thing my dad can say about them is that they need to go "walk alone." But if I'm feeling especially chatty, I'll talk to my mom until she gets especially annoyed. Otherwise, I try to shut it.
AilzMacD Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 living without it would be hard, (like trying to quite smoking or something you are addicted to) but i think if you went a long time without listening to them, when you start again it would bring back lots of memories and make you remember how good they actually are
Katarina. Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Yes I can. Especially when a new album of another band I love comes out. There are days I'm addicted to the Network, the Foxies, Pinhead Gunpowder or the Living End. Then I'm only listening to their songs for more than a week. After that I miss listening to Green Day and listen to them again, can't stop listening etc.
TheSaltOfTheEarth Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 no, I probably couldn't live without Green Day. I mean I can, and do, go without listening to them for a while, but I'd eventually have to. As for talking, well, outside of the GDC I really don't talk about them much, so...
little_jo Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I definately fall into the group who would go mad without listening to GD everyday!! It is always good when you haven't listened to a band for a while and ypou start listening to them again and the memories come flooding back, I do that with other bands except GD! lol
st.idiot Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 asdfl;kasdfl;kajsdf;lkasdjf;lkasd i don't wanna think about it. but i'm with andres, sometimes i get into other bands but i always and forever love green day no matter what. so aldjsfal;sdkjfalsd;k yea
Nele Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I used to listen to Green Day 24/7 but I discovered other bands and now I can survive a day without listening to Green Day. I have phases when I'm listening to them a lot and somties I just want to listen to something different. Right now I adoreso many other bands that I don't have the time for GD's music. ^^
lawrahday Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 my friends don't like them so i never really chat about them that much :/ but if i'd never heard of them i wouldn't know what i was missing! still i do find it hard to not bring up the latest about their tour and stuff
saraHsunshine Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I don't listen to them everyday. Depite the variety in their music and the sheer amount of love I have for them, my musical tastes are not limited to one band.
jensername Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I would definitely go crazy if I couldn't talk about them for a whole day. Every time my cousin and I talk (we are both equally obsessed with them), we mention Green Day at least once in every conversation. They have influenced me so much throughout my life. If it weren't for them, I probably wouldn't be as ambitious to pursue my dreams of being in a band. They taught me to follow my own path based on what I feel is right, not what others have tried to tell me. So no, I could not live without them nor could I go a whole day without talking about them. :) Yeah, same here. I don't listen to them every single day. But some days, I only listen to their stuff. It just depends what mood I'm in, really. If I'm feeling especiallly pissed off that day, you bet your ass you're going to hear them blasting from my speakers. Haha, yea it's hard to talk about them when you know others don't like them nearly as much as you do, or not at all. I'm just glad this website was created. It's easier to talk about them when you know that people aren't going to get pissed off with every mention of Green Day lol.
21st century idiot Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I'be gone days without listening to them, I just listen to blink 182 a lot more if I had to.
champagne mami Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Yes, I can go a day, even more than that, without listening to Green Day. Just like some of you said, my musical taste is not centered around Green Day. A good percantage is, but not all of it. There are times where I stop listening to them, get into a different band, and then eventually listen to them again. It's just like this cycle. And as for your other question, Yes, I can go a day without talking about them.
clairemarie Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Haha, yea it's hard to talk about them when you know others don't like them nearly as much as you do, or not at all. Seriously, when I found this site, I was like "Hey! Im not the only one! Maybe someone will want to converse with me now." Haha.
St. Banana Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 For a day, for weeks, even a month maybe. Not for the rest of my life though, no I'd hate that.
gdpony Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Like most of you said, I wouldn't die if I had to go days without listening to their music. Sometimes Im soo busy I have no time to listen to them, and I dont even notice But, as amazing as it may sound, after almost 10 years, Im still not at the point where I choose not to listen to their music, I just love it way too much.
Isabel Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I stopped listening to Green Day for a while between August 2008 and March 2009 because I had completely overdone it up to that point. I started to get really into Less Than Jake so I listenened to them way more. But then in just before 21st Century Breakdown came out I started listening to Green Day alot again to give LTJ a break. I overdo it alot with bands
in_your_face Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 well, without neither listening nor talking of Green Day, i'd just come here and talk shit. Simple!
ANJI Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Well, talking about green day? i have no one i know interested in them so i think i could pass that one, and i think i can go one or two days without listening to them...but not for too long
Ellenkc Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 I can survive without listening to them, they're my favourite band but there is other music to listen to and other things to talk about. My life doesn't revolve around the band. Often enough I go a while without listening to them and then I get this urge to listen to some album/song of theirs, that happened this morning with AWTW actually...
