Ally Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Sorry if this should be in the Cigs and Vals thread...but anyway I just got this weekes Kerrang and each week they have "This weeks essential tracks" playlist in it...well this week the 4th song on it is Cigarettes and Valentines. it only has 1 line about it but hear it is... Green Day-Cigarettes and Valentines The punk kings broke out this previously unreleased tune while recording their forthcoming live album last month. As usual, its 3 minutes of pure goodness makes me wonder if they have recorded it as K! usually only list tracks that are recorded not just played live. Oh and by the way Green Day are apparently in next weeks kerrang...no idea what its about though...hopefully something about the live album Edit: Theres also a small piece about the live album green day are set to release a live album later this year to commemorate the end of the 21st century breakdown tour. The as-of-yet untitled effort, which was recorded in Denver on august 28, will feature previously unreleased track Cigarettes and Valentines which was originally recorded in 2003" Thanks Smoothed Out for pointing that out

Bubbles. Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 if your getting it just for gd dont bother, its literally that line, not even a pic Second thoughts... I think there's an Avenged Sevenfold poster, so I might buy it. But then again the poster is free anyway... Let's ignore the fact that the posters are only free when you buy the magazine

Anja Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 I'm wondering why they wrote about a song that isn't even out or was only played live. Because normally, K doesnt do that as Ally said. But anyway, I'm glad they did I like the comment a lot. "3 minutes of pure goodness"

Smoothed Out Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Oh yeah i saw that, how did Kerrang! get to know about Cigarettes and Valentines? Anyway I was pretty shocked to see it, love K! Edit- and there's a tiny news piece (about 5 lines long) about the Live Album thingy so maybe that explains it a little bit more

JadedHaushinka Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Nothing new for me but good they mentioned it, so other fans who weren't aware of that got to know that now. :]
1039slappygirl Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Wow, it seems the band tells everything to K! Other way, I don't know how they always know what GD's done lately... I'm so in excited for the live album now!
Sanity Loan Posted September 8, 2010 Posted September 8, 2010 Magazines make things up guys...... I not saying whether or not that is true in this case but it generally happens so they gain more readers. I think they are right in their guestimation about it coming out by the end of the year..... that's pretty reasonable.
Hermione Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 ^ Indeed. They're just assuming that's about when it'll be out, and just assuming it was recorded there because Billie mentioned it at that show. Kerrang is just always looking for any excuse to mention Green Day I still get a kick out of them being in a magazine though. Especially one I can go and have a look at in a shop. Looking forward to seeing them in there next week
