jacknovella Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I was just thinking about Green Day, and how things have changed since their earlier days, and it got me thinking about where they will be in 10 years time. I was just wondering what you guys thought too...hopefully this is'nt a miss topic in terms of hit and miss What do you think?
gdpony Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I wonder how their shows will be, cause the music will still be great, but aging can affect their touring.
Katarina. Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 In front of me on stage playing their awesome music.
jacknovella Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 Yeah, as long as they're making music, I have faith in them that it'll always be meaningful and personal...but like you said, ageing will take it's toll on the guys bearing in mind that in 10 years time they'll be around 50. I think as they get older, they'll have less fans who are young, teenage girls who only listen to them because they're 'hawt'. Not to say that all teenage girl fans think like that...but I do believe that a reasonable portion of their fanbase right now are those teenage girls.
unabrasiveadhesive Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Well in ten years they made tree albums an changed their musical style quite abit so I say three more awesome albums and they will either venture more into alternative rock maybe but I'm hoping it would be more pop punk
kristinsinferno Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 oh man i think they're going to be playing until they die, as long as they don't take too long of breaks and stay away from serious drugs, and stuff like that. as far as their music goes there is no way to say, at all. i mean, when billie and mike started tinkering in 87 there was no way that you would guess that they would put out nimrod in 97, much less the song good riddance. and during warning, did we think they would make a musical ten years later? hell no! green day are the unpredictable, but in the end it's right (oh my god did i really just say that?) i have complete unconditional love for all of them, and they could put just about anything out and i'd love it. this is because i think of green day as a lifestyle, a family, and something to believe in; not just music. sorry to get all cheesy on you guys, but i've thought about this a lot and it's great to get it out.
St. Jocelyn Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 still making awesome music and ruling the world!
Trotsky Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 80 year olds on stage do not appeal to me, for any band. Green Day has 2 quality albums left, and then it is time to consider ending their music career on the high note. So that gives them about 10 years, by 2020 they should be kicking back and chilling out.

And I'll be going asnlong as they don't play 10 minute sets. Look at Johnny rotten he is still bratty as ever. Maybe green day will still Be awesome
in_your_face Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 well, yea.. i guess after 10 years, they'd be sleeping in their couches beside a cigarette and a bottle of Champagne.
Armageddon Flame. Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 You can still rock hard an be like 50 the point is they should play as long as they want to. Maybe green day will still Be awesome I hope Green Day will never ever sink as low as Johnny Rotten I hope they continue for a long time, I can definitely see them still going 10 years from now, If the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and ACDC can do it then Green Day definitely can. It all depends on how they look after themselves and keep themselves fit and healthy, they'll still be up for it
Opezi Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I agree with you there, although it is horrible to think about Green Day not making anymore albums :/ well as sad as it would be to think of green day not playing anymore. you gotta think rationally, that they are aging and they need time to relax and take it easy catch up on family life that maybe they have missed out on a bit. i guess. but maybe as much as they want to, they cant play forever. everything has to come to an end. even green day. but they will always live on through the lyrics in their songs and their music yknow. (:
lawrahday Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 i think they'll still be around but at almost 50 years of age i dunno how crazy their shows would be :/ they might be playing smaller and more intimate shows. well they better still be around 'cause i've only seen them twice and need to go to way more shows
BreakdownBrit Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 All I'm gonna say is look at a band like The Who...they still play live and you know what, I think as long as there are still people out there who enjoy their music and people who want to see them live...then yeah, they'll keep playing...
Clayish Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I can see them being like the stones and The Who... I really can.

When they're not going Green Day albums they're doing side projects.
st.idiot Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 i see them still fucking rocking and making music and ruling the world with everyone. oh and heart like a hand grenade will have already come out and foxboro hot tubs has become a little more bigger and the network came out with that one c.d. with 3000 in the title
1039slappygirl Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 As awesome as they are today, but with wrinkles in their skin
GenerationZer0 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Well I have 2 ideas. They'll still be rocking and making music and just being fucking awesome. But going much more into alternative rock and stuff and never really go back and try to make a sort of pop punkish album. Or one to two of them will be dead and whichever ones are still alive have like fallen off the earth practically. And whoever's left just kind of gave up on Green Day and life pretty much since they are music. Okay maybe that's a bit grim...
