Okay so I've done this a few times with various other things on other forums, with books we want made into films, ony done right etc.

Could we do it? write, cast etc? ( the first person to cast Robert Patterson as JOS gets shot)

I've already started once, so maybe we could take a try, each take a " song" to write a story about and link it? I've had an idea for the storyline anyway, based off the story for the album, but a bit more film orientated?

PS if this shoul go in any other forum, please move it

Yeah we could...but It's a veeeeeeerrrry complex thing! You need alot of talented people who are able to sing dance and act and you willa also need crew to film, edit record etc. plus how the hell are all these people going to meet together in one place!

Cool idea, but yeah it would be very hard...

That's a cool idea and all but it may be over our heads. If you're really in the mood to story board and script american idiot, we're pretty much already doing that at the graphic novel collab. (see link in siggy)

i meant just script it,

and put together a cast we'd like

It's a nice idea, but you can probably discuss it in the American Idiot Movie forum. And I agree with others, writing a screen play isn't easy especially when it involves music. And a full production is very, very difficult. Besides if the movie does really happen, they most likely will use the musical script and tweak it for the screen.

I wish there really was going to be American Idiot The Movie like they were planning 5 years ago :(

But anyway, this sounds like a really interesting, creative idea. I'm TOTALLY not creative myself but hopefully enough people will want to participate, I'd love to see the results.

Isn't the musical being made into a movie?

I highly doubt any of us have the skill or determination to accomplish such a complex task.

^ Same here but if it ever works.. it would be good to know and maybe see (?) what turns out.

i agree with johanna. if you really want to get involved with writing we're doing a graphic novel and it's actually coming along pretty nicely but were still getting some basic story line down. feel free to jump in and join in and help us.

as for the movie-tom hanks. that's all i have to say about that

It's a very complicated project, but it's not impossible. I know the album's story, so I could contribute giving ideas to the writting process. Plus I can play the guitar and every single American Idiot song, so if more people joins this, don't hesitate to call me, I'm in! ;)

i think it's a great idea. i know it would be hard and everything to do with a small amount of people but if word gets around for it i'd say it would get a lot of support from friends and some interest from small production companies or whatever else there is in the movie business. but i def think its a great idea and there would be a lot of people out there wanting it to happen and willing to help!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Ahahhaha GDC writing AI moive.. .oh gosh

:P cool idea...

But.. We'd need the help of the band.. depends on the direction they would wana take it in...

But some people here are soo talented. I'm sure we could give it a pop...

I'd just love to see an AI movie tbh.

Imagine seeing your name under the band members names haha

Music by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tré Cool

Directed by Anja S.

I like the idea but it's way too complex for us to make it become reality.
