howdy there, we know that the guys have a sort of 'framework' for which songs they do,but after the opening 7-8 songs they like to mix it up a bit, giving true individual character to each show to keep things fresh, so after seeing them do DOMINATED LOVE SLAVE (god i'm still high as a kite!) and then waiting, was wondering what was everybodies favoirite 'shock' set list inclusion,

 cya guys

I can't say I was "shocked", but I was very happy when they started playing She when I saw them last year.

I'll go ahead and move this to the Green Day Chat forum.

I was at the Bristow, VA concert, and i nearly exploded with joy when they played It's Fuck Time. :D

I also really enjoyed hearing Burnout and Paper Lanterns

i freaked out when they played 2,000 Light Years Away @ SD :D

Going to Pasalquca, Letterbomb, Geek Stink Breath, FOD, One for the Razorbacks, Scattered, One of My Lies.

Gonna have to say Cigarettes & Valentines ;)

but other than that, probably Paper Lanterns or One of My Lies. Both of those were so great.

Oh God, when they played Platypus in Montreal, I COMPLETELY lost my shit. I was excited for Take Back, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT PLATYPUS. Never, EVER, did I think I would ever hear that live.

Dominated Love Slave for me too!

Before the show we couldn't decide whether to make a DLS sign or a Fuck Time sign, in the end we chose Fuck Time. But during the show when he asked for requests I couldn't lift the sign up in time because it was squashed between me and the crowd, oh no! But then I looked up and realized what request they'd chosen - Dominated Love Slave :woot:. It was so great. Seeing Tre sing was right up there at the top of my wishlist and I'm so glad I got to see it.

Probably Burnout and J.A.R.

Another massive shock to me was when the Foxies played Stop Drop And Roll for the 2nd time (of 6 times lol). I just thought it was so cool and funny, I loved it. The same again each time they played it.

Probably Burnout and J.A.R.

Oh yeah and Burnout too! It was my brother's first Green Day concert and it's one of both of our favourite songs. I couldn't believe it when they played it!

I love how the 3 songs in this title are in my top 10 list

(was lucky enough to hear Maria and Private Ale live  )

I think my biggest 'shocked' reaction was when they played Maria, because I had never ever thought I would get to hear it live and I couldn't believe it was finally happening. And at the Manch soundcheck when they started playing Private Ale I just kept shaking my head saying "No, no way in hell are they playing this. It can't be...they don't play this song, ever!!"

:o I would actually die if I heard Private Ale live.

I, sadly, had no surprises at my show... The first shows from the tour are (almost) always like that, next tour I'll try to go to the last ones =)

I guess this isn't much of a shock but when I saw them, Billie told us to pick a song for them to play and they played J.A.R. Considering that is my second favorite Green Day song and I never heard it live, I was psyched! I was also happy to hear At The Library, 2000 Light Years Away and Going To Pasalacqua. At that time I didn't know they were playing way old stuff.

one for the razorbacks was a total surprise in Vienna last year :runaround: 2000 LYA was amazing to hear live too

and nice guys finish last and when it's time in Munich

and there were some videos from a sound check, North American tour 2009, where they played, Private Ale and GREEN DAY :runaround: (+ Warning and others)

The videos must be out there, I think there was a thread for it, I used to have the audio, but my hard disc failed, and lost it all :pinch:

Well at the show I went to, I think the most 'rare' sng they performed was an acoustic version of Coming Clean.

That's sooooo awesome!

I was in the first shows of the tour last year (July 18th) and I had 2000 Light Years Away, Words I Might Have Ate & JAR...I was surprised!

At Detroit, I think Going to Pasalacqua, I don't remember when they played that last this tour.

And like Jessica said, Burnout and JAR. And Geek Stink Breath.

2000LYA isn't that rare anymore.

When I met Billie Joe back at the New Years taping in LA, he was talking to someone about Sassafras Roots and how he couldn't remember if they had played it since it came out. If they actually played that, I would be shocked...
