Francois Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Hey everyone I'm from South Africa and our country has only been mentioned once in the GDA news, when Green Day won an MK awards for best international act (21 Guns). So someone sent in the news. All South African Green day fans unite here! Maybe one day GD will actually come to South Africa.
JadedHaushinka Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Hey there. I think this isn't the right thread in Green Day Chat but I hope they'll go there someday because they've never given a concert in Africa.
Juliette Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I love South Africa haha I know that's random but yeah.
Trina Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I guess SA has only been mentioned once on GDA because there hasn't really been any Green Day related things happening there. :\ It still sucks though, to feel left out, I'm sure. I'd say there are other South African Green Day fans here. I hope Green Day play a show there, someday.

It's not tour or music related. But yeah it's pretty sucky that they haven't come here. They're pretty big here. They won that award over Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Kings of Leon and few other people who are bigger than GD in the US. Billy Talent were here a few weeks ago, Korn, Metallica and Muse were here a few years ago and 30 Seconds To Mars are coming here for a third time in November. But no sign of Green Day...

Well, maybe it's even okay that this thread is here. I don't know much. I understand.. it's indeed a bit sad. Hope is the last one to die, so I really hope they'll go there one day. Did those concerts ever sold out you named? They've never been to my country also but they ain't that big here- I guess that's why. Sad..

And the other bands played at festivals. MyCokeFest is pretty huge. Always big bands. Bullet for my v and red jumpsuit app. were here last here. But there was no MyCokeFest this year, because Coca Cola South Africa put a lot of money into the FIFA soccer world cup. There were rumours of Green Day and Slipknot coming.

Estonia but fortunately Finland is close, so I can still go even though they've been there only this year and the other time was in '95. I wish they'd still come to Estonia one day. A lot of fans from Russia, Finland, Latvia and probably from Sweden would come too, as well as Estonians. Oh okay. Yeah, they should definitely go to South Africa. Maybe they don't know that they're so big there as it's the same with other bands but I don't know.. Got to get an attention from the band some way? Not good at giving advice.

My dad already said yes for the AI musical, but he said that we're not gonna plan our holiday around Green Day's touring (if they are touring at that time) so I hope I get to see them, but I probably won't.

Yeah, I know about that. Must be a really miserable feeling. At least you can go and see the musical. I wish I could too. Unfortunately Green Day isn't touring at that time, otherwise they would have released the new tour list. But never know about the surprising side-project bands they have. They might do a few concerts with them.

That would be cool if they did a show in South Africa, just don't bring them vuvuzelas to the show Sorry had to make a vuvuzela joke.
