sportsfrk214 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Ok so Green Day started going back on tour for the first time in a couple years last year with their warm-up shows before 21st Century Breakdown was released, and after taking their tour around the world for a year and a half, they currently have no shows scheduled once they play October 29 in San Jose, Costa Rica. So is this it? Will this be the final show on this world tour until their next album, or will they add some more dates afterwards, maybe playing a few random venues? Would love to hear any opinions, or thoughtful speculation. (This thread has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I just saw them the other night and don't want to wait 3 years to see them again )
Four. Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I think they might have a few random venues that they'll play in, but my guess is that the album cycle is pretty much over and that they'll go back in the studio. We can still see them with Foxie & probably Pinhead Gunpowder too, right? I mean, they do have other bands that have to live too So, that's my theory.
netty Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 they wont add any more. that will pretty much be the end of them promoting this album. whether they do any kind of shows between then and the release of the next album is anybodies guess. probably will. whether as green day or their side projects, who knows. but no... no more dates for this tour.
Tubbie Head Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I guess they will still play a couple of shows afterwards.. If not GD maybe the Tubbies *.*
Tubbie Head Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 But how I wish I could be at the last concert, it's always THE BEST
Nele Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I think that'll be the last gig of te tour. They need a break. I mean they toured for over a year.
GDM Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yea, it's the last hurrah after South America. But don't worry, they'll be back!
sportsfrk214 Posted August 19, 2010 Author Posted August 19, 2010 I hope they get the next album churned out a bit faster than 21stCB. It was torture waiting for them to get material out so they could tour again.
Holleh. Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 But how I wish I could be at the last concert, it's always THE BEST YESS!. Wonder if I can get to Costa Rica...
Four. Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I totally agree about the next album being out faster. I mean, 21stCB is good quality and stuff, but the wait was way too long and I suffered during all those years But I can't wait to see what they're gonna come up with.
Katherine Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Apparently, they're already playing around in the studio a little bit with demos. Nice to know they're already throwing around ideas for the next album.
netty Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 the whole recording demos on tour isnt new. they have always written and recorded songs on tour. we just dont hear about it too often because of the speculation that follows that kind of news.
StevieT Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 in my opinion i cant wait for the tour to ens because that will mean a new album sooner.
LetItBeHappy Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 So then I would be attending to the third to last show? They must do something special... and maybe they'll get a Network's tour after this? xD
DecanoLP Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I'm pretty sure this is the last show of the whole 21stCB touring cycle. The'll have a break, go into the studio, make a new album and start doing their promo shows when they are nearly done.

dreaming Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 I hope this boys can have a good rest at home, just keeping tweeting! They've done so much for us (tears come up)
fadi_7 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 ya i guess i can't wait for the next tour i miss them
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Yeah, I don't think they're gonna do another leg of the tour after that. Maybe a couple of random shows, but no big '21st Century Breakdown World Tour' stuff. Hopefully the new album won't take too long. Although the thing of the French girl who got up for Longview in Paris being asked to promote the Green Day tour 2011 is still lingering in the back of my mind. I don't know the details of that one, maybe it was a 'in case they come back in 2011' thing, or something. Not getting my hopes up because of that one tiny little thing, but still, y'know....
greendepent Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 As Green Day are humans, they need a break, leave the shows and take time with their families. They ended the nimrod tour in the same way, so maybe this will be the same
St. Banana Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 It's understandable that they need a break and all....but it's also understandable that I just died a little inside Returning to Australia, how naive I was.
