unabrasiveadhesive Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I'm going to see green day on the eighteenth and I got lawn seats. But anyways which do you think is a better place to see green day? I prefer the pit but they sell out so fast
Pedestrian9394 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I'm going to see green day on the eighteenth and I got lawn seats. But anyways which do you think is a better place to see green day? Definitely pit. I loved the pit. It was really rough, sweaty, hot, and hard to breathe, but if you're willing to deal with that, it's a great opportunity to get really close to the stage. =D
Lauren Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 pit. if you don't wanna be pushed around, then seats. lawn only if everything else is sold out or it's all you can afford. but would only recommend lawn if youre going with tons of other people so you can have a lawn party!
Vespertine Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I got pit tickets, but I'd much rather get lawn seats.
karma1215 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Pit for sure... I loved every minute of it. My friend and I got front row which was so awesome but we were toward the end of the barrier on Mike's side...it was amazing and well worth the money Downside - It was worth the money to see them up close in personal but you always have to worry about the person in front of you or in back of you...some lady with three asses swear to God...took it upon herself to take up an entire section in the railing but I give her props for getting a pick from Mike Dirnt and for also getting the setlist. Also I noticed that alot of people were getting sick... pucking out and falling out not exactly sexy but if you want to see the band up close and personal the pit is definitely an awesome experience. I found most people to be fairly tolerant and very nice. We communicated. If someone pushed it was cool because we knew what to expect---no one got too crazy and everyone seemed to have great time

At the show I went to, the people on the lawn were kind of far back. Plus, the atmosphere of the concert is better when you're getting squished between people and screaming your head off in a most pit. =)
captain peroxide Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 For me, it's gotta be the pit. Maybe I've been spoiled by seeing most of my favorite bands up close every time, but seats or the lawn doesn't do it for me. I saw Iron Maiden about a month ago, and although the show was incredible, I definitely would've enjoyed it more from the pit. You just get the concert atmosphere that way.
Guest Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 definitely pit! nothing else compares to being in the pit. although i wouldnt mind being on the lawn if it was for another band that i didn't care about as much. itd be nice to be able to sit down and relax on the grass and stuff during a concert.
vegandrone Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I am going to the show in Phoenix and I got seats, the pit was sold out and I don't like how far away the lawn is.I am going to the show in Phoenix and I got seats, the pit was sold out and I don't like how far away the lawn is.

I absolutely have to be in the pit when I see a show. It's not even worth it for me to go if I can't be in there, which is why the Shoreline show is driving me nuts - I don't want to have to settle for lawn tix b/c there isn't a pit area. The one time I wanted to sit and take a show in was when I saw Fugazi in 1997 (I think it was 97). I knew I'd never see them live again so I just watched intently and soaked it all in.
SixtiesJunkiie Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 I would never see Green Day unless I was in that damn pit, sweating like a pig and having the time of my life!
Heather! Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Nothing could even compare to the pit. It's so much more fun to be standing/jumping/and acting like a fool without any seats in your way, though I suppose that's possible on the lawn... also you get to be close to the band in the pit, which makes it sooo much more enjoyable.
GreenDay41 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 It depends on everyone's tastes in concerts. I'm crazy claustrophobic but I always make an exception for certain bands. Heres a few tips for if you're in the pit: -If you're claustrophobic and you don't like the feeling of not being able to move a muscle, make sure you stay near the sides of the crowd, moshpits don't usually start up there so people aren't pushing as much. -Drink LOTS of water before and if possible during the concert, stay hydrated and your body won't sweat as much. -Make friends with the security guards & tell them your concerns: They just may be able to save you quicker if they are looking out for you. I always do this at concerts. Sometimes they get a say in who gets pulled up at certain concerts, too. Just a few tips to keep in mind. Doesn't work for everyone, but they work for me
jello4president Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 No Question. Pit. I've been sick in pits, been crushed and had my head really badly hit but ever second is worth it... Some bands are worse than others, Green day wasn't the worst pit I've been into.
Abstractication Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 The pit, no doubt about it. Almost every show I go to, local or national, I try to make it a point to make it to the pit. There's nothing like jumping up and down and dancing around with a bunch of people who are just as intoxicated as you. Plus the whole atmosphere is top to none. I just hate it when people get all pissed off if they get bumped into or whatever. It's the fucking pit, people are gonna be moving around (granted if someone is a total belligerent drunken asshole, that's understandable). I think Man Man and Mischief Brew had to be two of the funnest pits I've ever been in. Even if I did get punched/elbowed/etc., I thought it was still well worth it. Plus if I get a bruise or something, I sort of think of it as a trophy or battle scar or something stupid.
jello4president Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 You're going to think I'm stupid but what are lawn seats? They don't have them at any shows I've been to...
theeulogy Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 PIT I'm not that old and I'm not afraid of pushing. It's just like a part of the show. How can punk show go without crowd going mad?
Punk-tastic32 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Pit by far. The lawn/seats are good it you want to be comfortable and not be pushed around. But the pit is where the real heart and soul is. There are thousands of people just like you jumping and moshing to the same beat. Everyone is there for the exact same reason. It's a really cool feeling if you think about it. A whole community squished in together to be, quite possibly, the closest to their heroes as possible. Even if that means 6" closer than 30 seconds ago. Word of advice- get there early. Being at the back, or even middle of the pit defeats the purpose. The real fun is the barrier, and up to about 6 rows back from that. Thats where the real, and truly excited fans are.
Valkin Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 The Pit, everytime. I love going insane in the pits and not giving a shit about what others think and also i you get alot closer to the bands you like, which is so worth it. I go to alot of metal gigs and they usually have a few walls of death and circle pits, i take part in these but i tend to be more careful of what i'm doing, especialy in the wall of death
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 Pit, definitely. Seeing it from the seats is also nice, it's different. You can really dance and go crazy there, which you can't really in the pit (if you're near the front) because you're continuously squished to death by all the people, and you kind of, notice more, in a way. But I like the pit so much better. The whole atmosphere there is just great, everyone is doing the same, jumping at the same time, singing the same, and most people are as passionate about the band as you are. And of course you see the band from up close. And if you feel faint because you stupidly didn't eat and probably didn't drink enough either, you can lean on people without them noticing and I have no idea what the lawn is I only know the pit and the seats.
Nimrod2309 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 You're going to think I'm stupid but what are lawn seats? They don't have them at any shows I've been to... Many outdoor venues in the USA(and Canada) have the pit(standing, general admission nearest the stage) then sections of assigned seats above and often lawn seating around the perimeter mostly at the very top(called lawn because it is usually a grassy area where you actually sit on the grass rather than seats). Oh, and to answer to main question of the thread: PIT PIT PIT!!!!!
