(I'm sorry if this is already a thread, I searched though...)

What do you do leading up to the day of the show and the almighty day itself?!

Why? :)

^ Cause you got hot and sweaty (especially outdoors) and passing out during the show isn't very much fun!

(Although the nice security guards in the pit sometimes give water. I love that.)

I usually make rings to commemorate (like the ones we all used to make for Christmas) and on the day of the show I just have to prepare mentally so I don't lose my cool.

Well, at the Alpharetta show, it was like 97 degrees, and the pit was full of sweaty people. Hahaha. So, water was definitely needed. And yeah, the security guards AND the band both sprayed us with water and filled our cups with water whenever they could.

Aaaah, in Ireland, October, it was a different situation!! That's really nice, go Green Day and security guards! For all your hydrating needs. :)

For my first Green Day concert last August, I watched videos from other concerts on YouTube, picked out an outfit that I didn't mind getting fucked up/gross/I would be comfy in, and phsyced myself up for it. ;]

Then afterward, I wished I had drank more water, put my hair back, and stretched a bit. hahahaha.

Heaps of water!

But I take to most concerts, hair ties! If you have long hair they are essential - especially for that friend who forgets to bring them XP

If your in the pit take crazy sunglasses or a hat - If you get to the front Billie Joe might steal them from you :D

I will be staying up the night before with my best friend, and we will be cranking Green Day all night and dipping every food item in Nutella before consumption.

I buy my ticket.

I listen to (almost) only green day songs for about... a week or so before the show. and practice singing longview haha. I've never had pit tickets so the day of I'm just basically beyond excited all day, and I do all the necessary preparations and stuff... and I sing green day all day long :D

do lotsa drugs, obviously. :ninja::runaround:

attempt to stay hydrated. this failed when i saw green day in alpharetta because it was so fucking hot it didn't really matter how much water any of us drank.

um...my friends and i plotted on how we were going to get our spot on the barrier that we wanted. plot ways to try and figure out how to meet the band. make signs requesting songs. etc etc

make endless lists about anything and everything.

Posted

Haha, I don't drink anything and go to the toilet about a gazilion times cause I'm so scared I'm gonna need in the middle of the show

Posted

I drive myself crazy with all kinds of ways in which something bad happens, or I'll get the most shitty spot ever or something

And I'm in a constant dilemma between wanting to eat and drink properly so I won't faint or feel bad, and wanting to eat and drink as little as possible because I don't want to have to have a bathroom break and lose my spot. xD

Basically, I'm stressing (and annoying) the fuck out of everyone and everything.

And I make a sign and look for and bring funny hats/sunglasses, if I have a pit ticket.

play all their albums in the few days before, pack my stuff, then on the day make sure I eat and drink enough and get really nervous until I am in the venue and in a good spot then I get excited.

Posted

make sure my hair's up in a ponytail because it gets fucking hot as hell

drink lots of water throughout the day

wear comfy shoes

Yeh between the pit and crowd security guards had tubs of water and HUNDREDS of paper cups, it was a good gig!!!!

i try not to die :P

This :D But right before the gig starts a bottle of coke or something is good because it gives you energy. And the security guards usually give people water.

The day before the gig I just try not to freak out. Not very easy :P I'm worried something will go wrong, piss everyone off with my endless Green Day rambling and I'm usually too nervous to really eat anything.

On the Big Day... Well, I just queue. Me and my friends went to the venue at 3am for the Helsinki gig and it was definitely worth it.

oh yeah, I'm the same, always paranoid I'll need to go pee half way through. They usually take bottles off you before you enter the venue, or at least the lids, so I try to sneak a bottle of water up my trouser leg and then only take little sips when I really need to so I don't have to leave the pit and loose my place. But I always drink LOADS the day before to make sure I'm well hydrated.

The day before I make lists of what I need to remember to take...camera, hoody, munchies etc.. not cos I'll forget, just to get me even more excited  and I plan the whole day, usually go out for lunch/dinner before the show, take loads of photos whilst getting ready, travelling to the venue and queing up, just so I remember every second :) x

That's my main aim as well  When 21stCB came on I was terrified my sister was going to get crushed, but instead i did!

I just listen to all their cd's and drink lots of water.

Ahh, I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I spend ages stressing out about how early to get there, then worry if I do make it to the pit I'll be next to the meanest person that's gonna crush me, and behind the tallest in the place haha* my boyfriend's like 'just look forward to it!!'
