Looks like they're slated to perform LOTAG during halftime at the 7pm ET Jets/Ravens game. Whether their performance will actually be aired during the broadcast will depend mostly on whether Chris Berman (ESPN's diva sportscaster) is willing to give up a couple minutes of his own halftime show face-time, so no guarantees. Might have to rely on post-show youtube video from someone in the seats.

Lots of nasty comments about Green Day and the NY Jets posted there too....feel free to jump on their board and rain holy hell down on them. :)

Awesome! I don't know about the song choice and doing it with the musical cast.... not really a good choice for a football game.

And Berman is the biggest db I know.

Last of the American Girls? Awesome! :D

Looks like they're finally promoting the 'new' single..

LOTAG?? mmm not the best pick for a football game

Exactly

Mmm, I'm not sure about a performance with the cast. I just think that isn't Green Day how it should be especially for a football game.

Exactly

Yeah, they should do KYE or something along the line.

But oh well once I've heard BOBD during a soccer game halftime down here :ermm:

Not a bad choice for a non-Green Day crowd, especially considering they are obligated to promote the new single for the label.

Idk to me you just have to pump up the crowd and the team, LOTAG is not even a song suitable for an arena, and who cares about Gloria's make up??

This is very interesting... Interesting song choice, but I guess it is their new single. I'd love to go to this!

Ha, yes, I concur.

How bout Mr, O'Reilly (MAKE SURE YOU GET TO 1 Minute for definite laughter).

I think someone needs his meds adjusted........... :whistle

Eh, any Green Day is good Green Day. I hope a network somewhere shows the performance!

I wonder if they will be allowed to play anything else? I can't see them getting on a stage and only singing one song.

Yeah but they care about the 5000 people they might get to go see the musical. Not the 65,000 that will not care about them whether they play KYE or Marry Had a Little Lamb.

Yeah, i get your point, but almost every song in the musical would be better that LOTAG.

Anyway it's not even sure they're gonna play that so I'm gonna stop over thinking about it.

. . . whether they play KYE or Mary Had a Little Lamb.

I'd like to see them try that that someday. Tre would have to sing tho. :)

LOTAG is just a shitty song in general. I don't think even most non-Green Day fans would enjoy it.

It's a half time show so aren't they usually more than 4 minutes? I'm not really all that familiar with American football but I can see them playing 2-3 songs and LOTAG getting aired, then again we probably won't know until the actual event.

Yes, in retrospect it should have its own thread.

They seem to play LOTAG or whatever their current single is when its a promotional event organised by the record label like with the Jimmy Fallon show. In their own shows they tend to play what they choose. I guess they are involving the cast as a way of promoting the AI musical. I wonder if they'll play it straight or do the "she's a rebel" medley version?

That makes sense actually if they're playing with the cast. :)

Well, halftime is about 15 minutes, but the announcers usually do playback stuff and highlights from the first half. Other than the Super Bowl, they usually don't show the halftime 'band' (which is often a local HS marching bad) on tv. Not sure how they will do much more than one or two songs, tho, especially if the crew has to bring in and break down the stage so quickly. Monday night games are always longer because of more commercials, tho, so who knows, lol? I guess we will see - I just can't see BJ getting on stage and only performing one song.

I'd even consider watching this game (not a big Jets fan although my NYC family is) just for the halftime show. But it is unlikely they will show it live. The announcers and stations usually like to talk and air commercials.

Plus, I have no idea if the game will even be broadcast in my area. Even on ESPN. Most times they put more local games on.

Will have wait for the video, I guess.

Nice even though I would have chosen another song. I really hope it will be aired and someone posts the performance on YouTube. Would love to see that.
