madddie Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Me and Ali are making 'Summer Shows' wristbands Join the facebook group or message one of us if you are interested. They are fabric wristbands, like festival ones which are very hard wearing and you can leave them on all the time to remind you of the dates you have been to this summer. We will have more information about prices soon, likely to be under £3.50 ($5-ish) plus shipping. We WILL be shipping worldwide This what they should look like (but obviously better when they are made) The i've been on stage ones will not be available with this batch, but hopefully soonish.
mandajane Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 sweet. i dont know if i like the idea of the 'ive been on stage with green day' ones though.....
madddie Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 sweet. i dont know if i like the idea of the 'ive been on stage with green day' ones though..... Why? :/ We think that people who have been on stage might want something other than a photo to remind them
mandajane Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 people are making a REALLY big deal about getting stage. people are mentioning hearing shit like "if i dont get on stage im gonna hurt someone/be pissed" like wtf arent you there for the music?? i understand about getting on stage. its fun as hell and exhilarating and youll remember it forever (would be cool gettin on stage myself). BUT people are starting to get all bitchy about it and super competitive (and a little elitist about it as well....like, seriously??) i think its getting a little annoying. i dunno about you, but im there to see my fave band and listen to their songs live because i love their music. but thats just me.

Yeah I can see your point, but I think people who have got on stage might want something so they can remember it.
Daughter.of.Rage.and.Love Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 @ mandajane: Woah. I've never seen anyone think they're better because they got on stage or some shit like that. Neither have I ever seen someone say stuff like that they're gonna be pissed if they don't get on stage. Or getting bitchy or competitive. At all, ever. Or not on here anyway. I also don't think anyone would get that wristband to show it off to people and be all like 'I've been on stage with Green Day, look how cool I am'. It's just a reminder of the concert/being on stage or something along those lines, like a t-shirt with the tour date(s) or something, but smaller. I mean, I get your point, but I've never actually seen someone do that or I don't think it will happen.
madddie Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 I've been on stage, and I don't think i'm better than anyone else because of it, i'd just like something of me to remind myself. We don't mean to offend by making these wristbands, neither did I post it on GDC to offend. Those bands look really cool Thank you

I'd explain it more but the person is on here and I don't want another fight happen. Anyways, I love the wirstband and I'd definitely buy one.

[not going to name any names] but, yeah.
Alllllli. Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Yeah, we really don't want to offend anyone with them! To me, people go for the music. Getting pulled up is just a perk! But, when you do get lucky enough, you wanna remember it forever and ever and having a bracelet to look at every day is nice. It's not being elitist, it's a nice memento. To me, anyway I'm damn proud of being pulled up - I survived a car crash to get to that show, haha, and having the band is a material reminder that I can do anything if I just stay optimistic, and it's also a reminder of the amazing times that I had with some amazing people during the week. Without those people... it wouldn't've been the same. So, that's why we had the idea. Everyone, I'm sure, will have personal reasons for wanting/not wanting one. And that's awesome OH! And - I'm sure some people can be or have been elitist. I haven't seen it personally, but I don't doubt it one bit. That wasn't OUR intention. Memories were

I haven't seen that so I don't know who you are talking about, but that's really stupid and dickish of them. I get "I'll be disappointed if it doesn't happen", but hurt or pissed is stupid. Acting elitist even more so. Buuuut I shouldn't start that discussion now or here.
dori711 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 heey! it's a very great idea! i joined the fb group but write here, too. So, i'd like to ask two things: first: you mentioned that you'll be shipping worldwide. I'm from Hungary, (it's bit far from the UK) and i mean, would it be possible to deliver the wristband to here? because i really would like to order one, and i would be grateful if it happened. ^^ i reckon i'd have to order on the net, but it's okay. second: what time will they be ecpexted to purchase? (sorry for my wrong english )

(sorry for my wrong english ) Your English is really good!! We will be shipping everywhere, so Hungary is fine!! We're not sure able how much the shipping costs will be yet, but it shouldn't be much more. And they are in the process of being made now, so they won't be ready a few weeks.. but we'll keep everyone updated about when they will be ready and how to order once we know
dori711 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Alright then! Thank you in advance! So i'll keep an eye on this topic and on Facebook, too. It'd be also good to send a message or something when they're ready i'm soo excited about them!
Tre_Gina Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 i think it's a great idea and will be getting one.
in_your_face Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 i love the whole idea. i wish i could buy one.

Nah, I don't think people on here are bitchy like that! I always feel very happy when someone from here goes on stage, even if I get jealous when they tell the stories afterwords I am so so happy for them, because that would be like, the most amazing thing ever if it happened to me, I mean, it is a REAL big deal for a fan to get the chance to be with them on stage!! I would probably want to say it to everyone, with the biggest smile in my face, during my whole life after a moment like that =) So I find this idea very cool
Billie Kristy Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I'd love to buy the first one. *.* Great job.
