Liam Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 From greenday.com Green Day Idiot Club members in North America - we know a lot of you are itching to see the band play next month in your neck of the woods. We have a special little contest that will get you and a guest tickets to see the band from the best seats in the house! We will be giving away 2 amazing tickets to EACH North American gig, so enter now for the venue near you. The contest? Grab your Idiot Club membership T-shirt (or any Green Day T) or your copy of 21st Century Breakdown and a camera--- we want to see you showing off YOUR Green Day pride in YOUR city! It could be a landmark (ex. IC members in DC posing in front of The White House) or it could be your local famous monument! We just want to see how creatively you can represent your town / city AND Green Day. Once you guys send your photos to us via email for each show, the Idiot Club HQ staff will post our favorite! The prize? Tickets for you + 1 guest to the upcoming Green Day gig near you. Seriously. [Enter now at IdiotClub.com]
cherrybomb! Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Awesome competition, i'm gutted i don't live in North America now.

Trina Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 ''Green Day Idiot Club members in North America'' this is enough to stop me from going on reading... Anyone can apply, apparently. Obviously you'd have to pay for all travel and stuff though. It's an okay competition I guess but it's kinda lame they took good tickets people were desperate to buy for a competition. I mean, wouldn't people who can afford to be an IC member already have their Green Day tickets anyways? ..I guess it's cool if you wanna get better seats or try for a different area though. I'm not going to enter because there's no way I'd be able to pay for travel.
bollard_11 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I'm not going to enter because there's no way I'd be able to pay for travel. Exactly the same reason as to why I am not entering
netty Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 you and a good few others, including myself! and the thing about taking tickets away for a competition.... it happens at every gig pretty much. theres been enough shows where tickets have been given as prizes on radio shows. just like we had some of the sound checks go as radio comp prizes on the last leg of the tour.
Trina Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Yeah, I guess it's better to have it through the IC then a radio competition really. At least big fans will win them not randomers.
mallorymaloney Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 Figures. There's finally a contest I can actually enter, but I've already got pit tickets.
Hermione Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I'm wondering why in the little list of things to get people to sign up for the IC it still says "Exclusive photos, video and audio". There's no exclusive video or audio whatsoever. It's blatant false advertising and it shouldn't be written on that list when they know full well it's a lie. Dunno what the "Much, much more!" is either... Always cool to see them doing a competition though, even if I'm not eligible for it. Good luck to all those who are entering!
Tubbie Head Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 ''Green Day Idiot Club members in North America'' this is enough to stop me from going on reading... well, at least they say it in the begging I'm really sick of getting excited with contests like this...
netty Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 you know the most effective place to post complaints like that is on the forums themselves. or email them to the admin

Yeah, i'm not a member but come to think of it, that's not right. Everyone kind of thinks "Ah well it's the Idiot Club, they always do that" but really it shouldn't be allowed to carry on. They clearly have no exclusives to give to people so they shouldn't try and say they do.
Robin105 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 I entered. I have a pic of me on the top of the rock in NYC. Good thing I wore my Green Day shirt the day I went cause that's the only pic I could use. I have an Idiot Club shirt but I don't have pics of me with it on.
Eighty. Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 ''Green Day Idiot Club members in North America'' this is enough to stop me from going on reading... same here, I wont be able to pay this trip anyway good luck guys, I can't wait to see those pictures
Hermione Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 you know the most effective place to post complaints like that is on the forums themselves. or email them to the admin Haha yeah you're right of course. I like to mention it here though because people on the IC already know about it, it's people here who might join because of false promises and be disappointed. I'm not sure where I'd post about it on the forum but I'll email the admin - thanks for the advice. I think it was after people complained about it that they added "(where applicable)" to "Chances at Presale Tickets before the General Public" last year, so maybe it's worth doing.
Adrii1039 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 How do people have Idiot Club shirts? and where can I get one?!
Rebel07 Posted July 19, 2010 Posted July 19, 2010 This is so hard for someone that lives in Kansas lol I can't think of anything Actually I kind of have an idea but I don't know how good it is... I guess I gotta go shoot it to find out.

†...HAUSHINKA...† Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 Anyone can apply, apparently. yes but... there's no way I'd be able to pay for travel.
Cris. Posted July 20, 2010 Posted July 20, 2010 How do people have Idiot Club shirts? and where can I get one?! Only members of the Idiot Club who have renewed their membership can have shirts.
dawn71 Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 I have been waiting 10 months to receive my Idiot Club T-shirt. I have emailed them and no response about it either. It's kind of an unfair advantage for those who have received their t-shirts. They said that in the contest they prefer IC t-shirts to Green Day t-shirts. I wish they would send the t-shirts to club members like they say they do. Its unfair I paid just like everyone else and here it is 10 months later and no t-shirt. I will not be renewing my membership this time......
Waffles Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 Aww that looks awesome...it's a shame I don't live in North America.

in_your_face Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 shit! i'm not gonna apply since we have to pay for all travels and accommodation!
Trina Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 yes but... Aw, yeah. :\ Guess that's the reality for 99.999% of us non Americans.
