TDTD - Don't cross the line because you'll scare my mother. I've just found out it's not what he sings because I saw a screenshot from the lyrics video.

I was recently listening to Bang Bang when I realized the lyrics are not

"I can't sing live and it's on my radio"

they're actually

"broadcasting live and it's on my radio"

I think I sing the majority of RevRad wrong.  I got the lyric book & you can't read it anyway.

Haha at least im not the only one. Who knows how many lyrics I ruined during the concert I went to. I love the lyric videos, I remember being disappointed that one of the lyrics was not better than what I thought it actually was when they came out.

I had a revelation today that has me shook  I always thought the Minority lyric was “free for all, fuck em all, you are your own sight”. But I saw a tumblr post that has it as “you’re on your own side” which I had NO IDEA was the real lyric. The meanings are the same I guess but omg.

(I’m assuming that’s the real lyric anyway! I can’t really make out what Billie is really saying either way.)

I always thought it was "you and your aside." Minority is one of those songs that I literally only know the chorus and that's it, even though I've heard it at least 100 times.

I thought that was the lyric too. I always sang it that way and I swear I saw it written that way somewhere. Probably on one of those lyric sites. I don't think they are always right anyway.

Well, it's written "you are your own sight" on the lyric book.

It is "you own sight" in the original album lyric sheet.

Am I alone in wishing that the live version were the original- as in, the extra chorus live (which has been the way its been performed for over a decade) is the way it should have been recorded? You know what I mean- the version with "one light"? Whenever I hear the studio version I remain unfulfilled without Mike's "one light" harmony...

"I wanna be the minority"

(ovelerlayed) "one light, one light, one light"

"I don't need your authority"

(ovelerlayed) "one light, one light, one light"

"Down with the moral majority:

(ovelerlayed) "one light, one light, one light"

"'Cause I wanna be the minority"

<Boom fireworks> guitar..the end.

It has been established though that even the lyric books are wrong sometimes  it came up as ‘you’re on your own side’ when I googled it. It actually makes more sense to me than ‘you are your own sight’ which is why I’m thinking that’s what it really is.

Trust the lyric book more than what you googled depending on where the source is I suppose.

Ok, at least tell me you figured that out years ago! Lol! It actually works in Europe, not so much here.

By the way, changing lyrics live is a very popular thing to do with all bands. Pearl Jam has a few songs that Vetter will tell you himself there are no lyrics for and they make up as they play. Listen to some of their songs. Want to hear some misheard lyrics? Tell me what this song says???

Not to pull this thread off topic but I randomly pulled “Alive” as it’s a typical “no understandable lyrics” PJ song and it brought up this performance at PinkPop from when I was a kid and I was there and one of the most famous moments in rock happened there. Check this shit out.

I was barely 15-16 maybe and this happened and I was pretty close to it. Fucker jumped from the camera jib into a wild crowd. Nirvana, Green Day (Kerplunk era), Pearl Jam (rock was alive back then boy).  Considered one of the best rock performances ever with Live Aide Queen usually being at #1

It was the first result googling ‘minority lyrics’. Just a lyric site, but one wonders where that came from in the first place - I mean I can’t distinguish either way what he’s saying. Maybe I should go listen to some live performances 🤔

I would go with the lyric book. I wish it didn’t exist though. I never read them as they do change live sometimes.

I mean there were at least 50 people that thought it was “Raw Ham” after KYE and they WERE SURPRISED WHEN IT WASNT!!!!

In Warning, I always thought he was singing "Caution Polish line you better not cross" instead of police line. For some reason, I thought Polish line actually made a lot of sense

Listening to Jesus of Suburbia, I remember that I always used to hear "To live and not to pay is to die in tragedy" instead of "To live and not to breathe". Well, it makes sense too I guess:lol: Also, I think the "Lost children with dirty faces today" verse is just incomprehensible the way Billie mumbles it. I always used to hear something like "And yes, now we know it's too late".
