To be fair that thread is a nightmare to find anything in - all discussion of two different shows AND a brand new song crammed into one thread.

My sister and I think the first line of that version is actually "I've been strangling the hole in your face" :eyebrow: . But obviously he sang it differently almost every time.

Yeah I was reading the lyrics while listening to the vid from that night in NY... they match up mostly, but not entirely. Maybe he did indeed sing it different ways. I heard they did it enough.

Nah, it was just discussed in the thread about the two New York Foxboro shows (which is now in the tour section of the forum). I remember because I considered making a thread for the song (which I probably should have), but I didn't for some reason.

I'm pretty sure the lyrics Micky posted above are the only ones that were ever worked out/posted/discussed on here anyway, so there probably isn't that much to gain from finding the discussion about them.

I think that is the best version of the song that I've seen. The ones from Bowery Electric aren't that good.

Also, Andres, the problem with matching the lyrics is that he kept changing them at various renditions of the song. So if you are looking for consistent lyrics that stay the exact same through the versions, I don't think you are going to find them.

Yeah, I think every single version is different. At one point I was trying to work out what the song could be like if you stuck them all together

I think it's possible to work out and list all the different lyrics into some semblence of a complete song, with some of the lines being interchangeable. It wouldn't fit any one video of the song of course, but it would include as many of the different lyrics as possible like a mixture of all the different versions. Gonna give it a go later.

I agree about all the different lyrics. I also think that when Green Day perform the song rather than FBHT, the lyrics are a little...cleaner!

I was hoping someone could help piece the lyrics of the video I posted - since that's the one we used on GDA where the lyrics will be posted. I'll just make a note that they vary during each performance.
