jjjj Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I am going to the musical tomorrow for the second time, and I was wondering if i could get a musical poster autographed by most/all of the cast. I have been to broadway musicals before and met a few casts, and I am assuming there is a stage door where I could get autographs. Has anyone done this before/was it successful? Where was the stage door? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

When I went there most of the cast came out. They were so generous in taking pictures and signing autographs. Just make sure you get a good spot. Dash to the stage door as soon as the show ends! Also, John Gallagher Jr. doesn't come out. But besides that, it's great. I hope you have as a great time as I did!
Fuzz Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Yep, the cast usually comes out into the lobby on their way out. There's usually a crowd of people waiting, and the cast makes their way through and usually talks to everyone. Sometimes not the whole cast (some will stay behind), but you can definitely get to meet a lot of them. And they're all super nice.
jjjj Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 thanks so much for the prompt replies! so should i be in the lobby or right outside the stage door?
Fuzz Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 It's all connected. As you walk into the lobby you'll see the big doors in front of you. Just hang by those big doors with the "Employees Only" spray paintings. Here's a picture of a group of us waiting for the cast in front of the big doors. The lobby is directly to the left of that picture.
jjjj Posted June 23, 2010 Author Posted June 23, 2010 thanks andres! i love the site and i really appreciate the help!
Nmd Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 yup, theyre all super nice, you might not get everyone but most of the cast comes out and signs/takes pics/chats
in_your_face Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 wow! that's really awesome!! i wish i could meet these guys some day!
lizziebix Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 When we went, they moved the line for waiting to the outside and everyone came out of from the lobby and went down the line and signed autographs and stood for pictures. Only John and Vince didn't come out - all the others did and were most gracious. btw...when you see Stark, he will look you directly in the eyes when he talks to you, like you're the only person that matters. Nicest guy ever!
plaid ducky Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 On weekdays when the bar isn't open after the show, stage door takes place outside not inside. So, just watch where the barricades go up. If you wanna catch John, go to the glass doors on the opposite side. You might have to wait a while but if you catch him, he's more than willing to sign and take a picture with you.
Mommy's Little Nightmare Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 John comes out sometimes, but like most people said... he generally won't. And he'll usually sneak out the other doors while everyone is distracted by the rest of the cast. Of course, if you do meet him, he'll be as nice as the rest. They're all super-nice, and very down to earth. They don't mind talking to you, taking pictures, or signing anything.
lizziebix Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Don't forget to ask Michael Esper to show you his It's Fuck Time bracelet. He'll laugh and talk to you more!

Or, if you have one of your own- show him! One of the last times I was there, I had mine on, and he was like "I HAVE ONE TOO!" Then Gerard Canonico saw it, and was like "Yeah... I don't have one, but I have something better!" And he showed me the tattoo Billie gave him.

He loves to show off that tattoo and tell you that it needs more work done on it - by Billie of course! Ask him about it.

He told me the L was fading, and he had to get it touched up. I asked him if he was gonna get it done professionally, or if he was going to wait for Billie. His response was "Fuck professionals! No one's touching this but Billie Joe!" I was like
Wolfdemon Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 You should be able to. The majority of them come out after the show. Got most of their autographs myself.
