BBC Radio 1 is currently holding a competition to win your own backstage dressing room and a chance to hang out with Green Day before their show at Wembley Stadium in London.

To enter to win all you need to do is listen to the Chris Moyles Show and wait for him to ring his buzzer as your cue to call in.

Complete details on the contest can be found on BBC.co.uk by clicking here.

Found the news on GDA, I didn't see a thread for it.

I was exciting when I saw this until the "Open to all UK residents" condition...

The good thing is that that kind of contests is coming closer to Europe. Let's hope Europe will be the next to have such a contest!

I'd love to enter...but not sure if they have played an alarms yet :P

Ehh, the Chris Moyles show is on from 6.30am to 10am....and I think the questions will be about football because this is part of a series of World Cup themed competitions. I hope a GDCer wins it but I'm not holding out much hope for me

Does Ireland count as UK...? :P

quite clearly you guys can't read :P

it says for the scott mills show, NOT the chris Moyles show

here, ill post what it says from the link first posted:

Weekend 2: Scott Mills and Green Day

You and a friend get to go to Scott Mills' World Cup Party on Friday afternoon. It will be live on air from 4pm with special guests and live music.

After his show you'll watch England vs Algeria. Then on Saturday Green Day are playing at Wembley Stadium and Scott will take you there. You'll get your own backstage dressing room - and then you get to meet Green Day before seeing their show that night!

If you want to be Radio 1's special guest at Scott's World Cup Party and see Green Day at Wembley - this is what you need to do. This alarm will go off TWICE on Radio 1 today before the end of Scott's show at 7pm.

When you hear it go off - you need to call Radio 1 on 03700 100 100 03700 100 100.

:: You need to be 18 or over to enter

:: Lines will be open for 20 minutes after the alarm sounds

:: Standard geographic charges for landlines and mobiles will apply

:: Full terms and conditions

If you're lucky enough to get through and our phone answerers think you lively and entertaining and are keen to join Scott and see Green Day this weekend then you could be on air playing a little game to find a contestant who will go through to the final on Thursday morning.

Edit: actually! re-read it (im quite confused) basically the alarm can sound at any point during the day, not just during the chris moyles/scott mills show, but at any point during the day

ehhh :/

I heard about this a few days ago. My Dad just got home from work and said he had been ringing me like crazy but I didn't have my phone on me, because he heard a siren thing and then Green Day and assumed it must be what I was on about! But I didn't get the phone call D:

And I can't enter tomorrow because I'm at Manchester so I'm a bit gutted. I'm still going to try and get my parents to listen and enter for me, but they wouldn't ring up Radio One :( And if they did they wouldn't sound enthusiastic enough to get put on air. If it was me I'd scream the house down. Maybe if I get them to text me if it comes on and then I can ring them up from queuing?

Yes. I'm going to try that. Actually my brother gets the radio on his mobile - but I don't want to have to sit in the queue for Green Day listening to shit dance music and stuff on radio one

I got chosen to play just a few minutes ago!!!!!! But lost :(

I got up at 6:45 this morning and listened all day for the alarm. Heard the first one but didn't get through. Heard the second one and managed to get through as all my family were home and we were all trying on all our phones.

I had spent all day putting the football players names into alphabetical order (it took like 3-4 hours) and then printed them out so i had read them all and had them ready to look through if i got through. (i know nothing really about football).

But when i got through the name was a footballer, Ryan Babel, that i couldn't find on my list or remember so i said player. I only had 3 seconds to answer and it really was a guess. And then i saw it on my list about 2 seconds later so i knew i got it wrong so was knocked out  I'm gutted!!! If it had been questions to do with Green Day i would have been alot more likely to suceed than a competition that had nothing in the questions to do with them. I think it was fairly tricky - the next person got Calvin Harris and i would have known that he was a performer. Oh well i guess i was lucky to get my chance. Another time it shall have to be.

They should make it questions about Green Day . . .

They should make it questions about Green Day . . .

No but it's a world cup competition =/ it happens in several stages and there are several rewards such as Glastonbury and some others. Suddenly having Green Day questions would be really inconsistent

I seriously need to move to another country ¬¬

That's such an amazing prize! :woot: I hope a GDC-er wins!

They should make it questions about Green Day . . .

I was thinking that too, they should've made it two separate competions, and ask GD questions for the Wembley one. I hate they competitions like that always seem so impossible to win. =/

damn lucky you. but good luck to everyone (:

I hope so too!

Yeah....I know zero about football so there'd be no point in me trying. Whoever the winner is I hope they're a Green Day fan as well as a football fan, seems a bit of a waste of such a cool Green Day prize otherwise.
