boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Ok i know this doesnt deserve its own thread but i couldnt really think of where to post or talk about this.. Normally "rumoured" stuff are ignorable online, but when its posted on greenday.com it makes me start to think.. Now i dont know how this is possible since they are in europe. But supposedly its rumoured Billie will be performing for the opening number at the Tony's. Like this is unlikey but i dont know why the official site would post it???? Cast members, in costume, will perform the pop-hit medley. Surprise "guest performers" are likely to include "Glee" stars Lea Michele and Matthew Morrison (both Broadway babies), Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong and, possibly, Jon Bon Jovi. Elton John, the producer of the Tony-nominated play "Next Fall," might pop up as well. Tony host Sean Hayes will certainly sing something from "Promises" with his un-nominated co-star, Kristin Chenoweth. here is the link for the whole article.. Ok i think this is pretty useless but i'm just very very confused..
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 That looks pretty convincing. But how?? they will be in Europe..
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 I know but surely whoever their media person who updates their site would know what the band is up to and they wouldn't post a rumour of something if its not going to happen.. i know i keep saying one thing and contradicting it but that's what's making me very confused..
elisa Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 maybe he won't be physically there, they will just air his performance. or it was all already taped.
watsername182 Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Hmm, interesting... Well even if it were possible for Billie to fly out to New York to perform at the Tony's I think I'd be kinda weird if only Billie were to perform and not the whole band. On a side note, it'd be pretty awesome if Lea Michele performed at the Tony's.
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 maybe he won't be physically there, they will just air his performance. or it was all already taped. Yeh i thought about that but I was thinking the Tony's are like the Oscars of Broadway, everything would be live and on stage (i mean its all about the stage) I dont know.. Until it airs i guess we will never know but I'm just very confused..
farley drexel hatcher Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 If Green Day.com are just linking to an article that mentions GD in some way, it doesn't mean they're confirming it ... and the article doesn't confirm it, either. Besides I think the same guy who updates GD.net updates GD.com and lets face it, he gets most of his info from the same places GDA does. And they are playing a show the night before, so who knows? Possible he could fly over but I doubt it.
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 whats the date again? 13th of June so one day after Novarock.. SO very unlikely Billie would fly out.. If Green Day.com are just linking to an article that mentions GD in some way, it doesn't mean they're confirming it ... and the article doesn't confirm it, either. Besides I think the same guy who updates GD.net updates GD.com and lets face it, he gets most of his info from the same places GDA does. I dont think they automatically post every article that mentions Green Day coz otherwise there would be a lot more than what gets posted. So i think they definitely pick and choose which ones.. I think who ever updates greenday.com gets alot of stuff from GDA coz there is often the same scans that were taken from GDC..
**nobodylikesyou** Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 or he will perform where he is at and they will air it on the show.
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 or he will perform where he is at and they will air it on the show. Thats probably the most likely situation... Man im going to have to try and find somewhere to watch this on the 13th..
ParadoxAndPlaid Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 Sounds like a good possibility, but they're pretty busy with the tour so I won't get my expectations too high. I'd be happy with just a cast performance too. It's a shame it sounds like only Billie involved with this and not the whole band.
Holly Ann Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 But how?? they will be in Europe.. Ah, I don't know.
poisonoak Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 they might fly out immediately after the gig and be there perform a song and go back to sleep or whatever...
boosho Posted May 29, 2010 Author Posted May 29, 2010 they might fly out immediately after the gig and be there perform a song and go back to sleep or whatever... I highly doubt that coz they got to Europe a week before their first show to get over Jetlag in time, i dont think they would ruin that for a quick performance.. If it does happen i think it would most likely be a performance from whereever they are..
Tubbie Head Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 it could be pretaped. That's what I was thinking they might fly out immediately after the gig and be there perform a song and go back to sleep or whatever... hmmm don't think so
LetItBeHappy Posted May 29, 2010 Posted May 29, 2010 I know but surely whoever their media person who updates their site would know what the band is up to and they wouldn't post a rumour of something if its not going to happen.. i know i keep saying one thing and contradicting it but that's what's making me very confused.. well, their media guy thought that Green Day was coming here on the 28th, and they're coming the 24th, so I don't trust him so much e.e
