Footage of unreleased song, to appear on Rock Band: Green Day?

First of all, i dropped the whole yada-yada with searching for a similar topic, i glimpsed the first page and i didn't remember seeing it before, so... i didn't wan't to use time on the investigation part , so just delete it if necessary

So, i stumbled over [post=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYwyLxTNLRQ&feature=related]this'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYwyLxTNLRQ&feature=related]this video on youtube, just a plain interview about Green Day: Rock Band with a producer from Harmonix. The Interview is interesting and explains some of the best features of the game, but the most interesting part was about 5:30 when the producer explains about never-before-seen footage og different interviews, concert ect. and mentions an unseen video of an unreleased song they played on a soundcheck on their tour... By this point, both myself and 90% on here might be thinking: Cigarettes And Valentines, because it's the only unreleased song we know of, that Green Day have played on a soundcheck, at least on this prior tour for 21CB, that i'm guessing he's talking about.

He didn't mention whether it was gonna appear in the game or not, but we have to get out hopes up on it, as this might be the only chance of ever hearing the song, if Green Day chooses never to release the song or play it again. I'm excited know (on a reasonable level), how about you?

I saw that interview before but i got the impression that it was a song that was recorded eventually but not at the time this video of them was taken . For example they could have been on the Dookie tour and played a song in rehersals that wasn't recorded yet, then it showed up on a later CD like Nimrod

He could be meaning Drama Queen or When It's Time too (although that's released by now, but I don't know when that interview was made), I think those have been played at soundcheck too. It would be cool if it were indeed Cigs&Valentines and there is a fair chance it was indeed the song. But I'm not getting my hopes too high up, they could very well decide to not put it in the game (they didn't release the album or its songs for a reason)

Well, the first thing I thought of was Olivia/Wonderful that was mentioned around here before... it was played at a sound check (I think in Philadelphia last year?) but that's all that's really known about it. There's always a chance it could be that.

That one got completely erased off my memory, that they played Olivia too. But I don't think it was ever sure if that was indeed Olivia/Wonderful, and not When It's Time or something, at the time no one knew both those songs and if I recall it right, the person who heard it never was sure it was Olivia/Wonderful.

That would be quite the smart move, haha. But wouldn't that be quite a risk, too? A fan could've filmed it, and all. I'm not disregarding your theory, but yeah. It's more likely they just thought "hey, no video of it ever surfaced, maybe we could put it in the game so more fans can buy it". (if it was C&V and not some other (at the time) unreleased song. There's a fair chance it is.)

No, as far as I remember, there was no video from that sound check. People going to the sound checks were told STRICTLY no video, and the only vid I remember from a sound check was obviously taken by someone in the VIP area (and not a very good one, either). Cigarettes and Valentines was played at the San Jose sound check. I was standing in line outside and saw Paulina's tweet about it. I couldn't believe I missed hearing that, and it's still what I would request if I ever got the opportunity.

No, no one ever posted any form of recording of the song. Only vidnesses confirming it happened.

Since he said that they got the majority of their material from Warner and MTV, i'm expecting it to be partly proffesional recorded. Aslo, they wouldn't think of putting a really low quality recording of the song in a game og this size. So therefore it must be a never before seen video.. Except for some lucky bastards insider-people working there of course. Actually i doubt there is such a thing as an never-before-seen video

You're probably right, but what I remembered was taken from the balcony area. But it might not have been that song at all. That's my memory for you!

That's exactly what I remember, too! But the "balcony" area - i.e. up high - is where the VIP section was. People going into the sound check were seated in the closest possible seats to the stage (at least all the sound checks I have info on). So a video from one of them would have been much closer. Also, I know that vid I remember from up high was not from San Jose where the song was played. It's possible there could have been another one, but I wanted to hear Cigarettes and Valentines so badly ... I can't believe I would have missed it if it had been out there.

I knew a person at one of the shows i attended in october last year. He told me and another guy, that he could get us in for sure, because he was son of someone highly ranked in security... But in the end he fucked us over, and left us outside, because he thought the 20 seconds it would take him to call us over, would risk his own chance... IF, Green Day had played any rare stuff that evening, i might have strangled him!

Then, the only possibilty would be When It's Time, and it was only Billie playing the song back then, so, maybe he would've mentioned it was Billie Joe playing an unreleased song... I'm still on the other thing (for both sensable and hopefull reasons)

I doubt it'll be V&C. I bet it'll just be When It's Time, Drama Queen, or maybe Hearts Collide. But hey, it would be neat if it were V&C. Either way, I'd still buy the game, haha.
