Burnout98
This is an album that is probably the album i don't listen to as often but it is still a great album! I love Ha Ha You're Dead, Espionage, Scumbag, Desensitized and I Want To Be On TV. Also, Poprocks and Coke and Maria are up there with my favourite songs! I think these two songs show what Green Day were going to next.
Guest letterbombb
Record Rewind: Green Day – 'Shenanigans' Green DayShenanigansReprise Records (2002) Green Day followed up 2001's greatest hits set International Superhits! with another career retrospective: an odds-and-ends collection of b-sides, rarities and soundtrack cuts appropriately titled Shenanigans. Culling material from Billie Joe Armstrong & Co.'s golden age (namely Dookie through Warning), the overall level of quality (especially in retrospect) is particularly strong; the album is arguably a better indication of what Green Day were all about in the mid to late-nineties, spring-boarding off classic British punk into surf rock, power pop, British Invasion and more, with the Green Day sense of humor (sadly missed on basically everything since American Idiot) firmly in place. http://www.ology.com/post/255372/green-day-shenanigans-record-rewind

cartoonjunkie
I like to call this album 'The Fruitcake' of Green Day albums. The reason is from how comedian Jim Gaffigan explained the invention of fruitcake, "Let's see. I'll just take all this leftover stuff from all the other Christmas deserts, stuff it into a pan, bake it and sell it". So with that in mind, I like to imagine Billie and them, "Hm, let's see. How about we just put together all these leftover songs that didn't make it into the other albums, put them on a disc and sell it"! XD
HARVESTER
Time to go listen to Shenanigans again. There was another "I will be there for you" song around when Poprocks and Coke came out on the airwaves... if I remember right.... I think that was partly the reason Poprocks and Coke got it's name. Kerplunk!!!
Hmmm my opinion on Shenangans is it has no flow as an album (understandle) but is really good. My least favourite part are the three 'S' songs on the album, all good songs that could of made an album but all a bit to similar soudning to me to be on the same album/compilation, i'd put Do Da Da in this catorgory to tbh. The Outsider cover was one of my favourite Green Day songs and one point and I Wanna be on tv has good energy, makes me feel aggressive just listening to it while On the wagon and Tired of waiting for you show a good mellow side to Green Day. I don't listen to Haha your dead much, i think you can tell Mike wrote it aswell as J.A.R cos i find them quite similar but J.A.R is much superior. My highlight though is definetly Rotting, doesn't seem to get much love on here but i find the lyrics a bit haunting and i think Billie sounds pretty good how he sings it really low, it gets you thinking about death and loved ones and a song that can get you thinking is a good song! Eva
Ha Ha You're Dead was one of the first Green Day songs I ever heard. For that reason alone, Shenanigans will always be one of my favorite's out of Green Day's discography.

Guest
Shenanigans is very high up for my favourite Green Day albums. Yes I'm aware it's not an album but I don't know how to word it. I really love pretty much every song on there.
Snows
Ok, first heard. It's so cool. Nice surprise to hear Tired of waiting for you, is one of my favourites by The Kinks. But I want to be on tv is a shame, omg. I don't like On the wagon neither. >< And Spionage doesn't sounds like a GD song. Mmmm, that's all. porksoda
"On The Wagon" is one of the best songs Green Day has done, and it has some of my favorite lyrics. "So slap me on the hand, put it right back down my pants Turn my right around, kick me in the ass Well today I say sweet things, but tomorrow I'll be making up excuses For my actions cause it's been so long Since I have been in love A special kind of feeling Guess my best excuse I'm on the wagon again"
brutal kid
I love Shenanigans, such a calm and relaxing album, but not very professional. I like it more than Insomniac Ok, first heard. Maria and poprocks arent in Shenanigans, it's just like When it's time I guess, independent songs And You lied of course kicks asses, never heard of Espionage(happy, at least a new Green day song for me)

They're both covers. What the hell? Maria and poprocks arent in Shenanigans, it's just like When it's time I guess, independent songs Well they were released on International Superhits. I'm sure someone realized it would be cheating to put them on Shenanigans too.

Joe.
I think it was going to be released in the japanese version, but it wasn't xD and it's so fun to play http://www.greendaycommunity.org/Forum/public/style_emoticons/#EMO_DIR#/laugh.gif Don't know if it's been said but DUI is on YouTube somewhere, I've heard it https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-pEjv65tIQg No idea if anyone's linked it but here's DUI
Insomniac186
I remember that I bought the Japanese import when it came out and it didn't have DUI on it. I felt so ripped off... I also bought and advance promo copy and it wasn't on that one either. At least there's finally a high-quality version avalable now. There's enough material for a "Shenanigans 2", now would be a perfect time to release it while we all patiently wait for the next LP.
