dumbell2424 Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Sorry if this was already found, seeing as the mail lost my January issue of Bass Player, and it somehow arrived today, but there was a supplement about Mike in it, and I took some scans. Pretty interesting even though he's listed for "beginners" >.>
Angela. Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 I don't recall ever seeing anything about this. Thanks for sharing.
Thececilie Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 thanks for sharring. (i couldnt understand most of it, but so what?)
Nele Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 That was a nice read, thanks for posting. Pretty interesting even though he's listed for "beginners" >.> No offence, but his technique really is for beginners.
dumbell2424 Posted April 11, 2010 Author Posted April 11, 2010 No offence, but his technique really is for beginners. Ehh, with the examples they gave (including a dumbed down version of longview), surely, but the 1039/kerplunk/dookie lines are some of his most complex lines. American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown are by far beginner techniques.
Greenday_Aussie Posted April 11, 2010 Posted April 11, 2010 Yeah, every album Mike's playing has gotten more simple. It'd be nice to see both him and Billie add some more flavour to the next album. Proper solos and complex basslines and bass solos.

Ever tried to slap on a bass? Now that's kinda hard. xD
Haz Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 cool, quite a short article but its always to see the boys mentioned

ParadoxAndPlaid Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 . Aw. it good to see him getting attention! I understand that his newer bass lines have been more simple. Still hearing it called beginners is pretty harsh. I wish he'd show off his skills some more. We know he's got it.
