I have been a fan my entire life, I grew up listing to this music, this music is my life, it has kept me alive through deaths of close friends and family and a long battle of Bipolar Disorder but there is something that's been playing on my mind. Your so called “fanclub.” I'm well aware it is outwith your control but I believe you should be fully informed of the rip off that is going on right under your nose. I joined on October 16th 2009 in preparation for the UK Tour tickets going on sale. They took double the registration fee from my credit card which pushed me over my limit resulting in £80 of bank charges. Which by the way may not seem like a lot of money to you, I know you now have your well deserved riches and everything but to me that's a whole months food money, to a Scottish University student trying to live off student loans and deal with £10,000 of debit that's a lot of money. I'd kinda like it back. This is the last straw I have written to Warner countless times and have received no apology for their fuck up. You know a sorry we fucked up would be nice at least but it appears they don't even have that little courtesy. Did you name it The Idiot Club or was it Warners hilarious idea of a joke because that's what it's turned in to. Should I go in to the countless number of friends who have forked out to join this shamble of a “fanclub” only to be met by the epic fuck up on the presales for the Summer 2010 USA dates, oh by the way their fucking pissed off as well. Lucky I managed to get tickets to the UK dates in 2010 but by no help from Idiot Club no lining up for five hours in the snow and below freezing tempretures at the box office did that. We've been let down, please don't be offended by this letter I am simply doing what you have always encouraged us to do, speak out. So far I have tried every road I can to being heard and been ignored. I don't give a shit about the money anymore, I've lost hope in getting it back I just want this horrific excuse of a club sorted. I cancelled my membership I did not want my name attached to what is obviously a record company scamming fans. Get it sorted please. We deserve better treatment than this. We love you dearly, we really do, unfortunately your record company doesn't seem to have the same love for the people who line their dog bowls with gold as you do. As a fan I just want you to know the truth, because we're certainly sick of this and I guess you would be too if you knew what was going on, at least I hope you give that much care. I love you, I love this band, I love this music. Love Samantha. I have no where else to post this, I'm sick of being shafted by Warner I just needed to get it off my chest.

Love your "epic fuck up" comment. As someone who's just been completely screwed by the IC regarding the Irvine show, I couldn't agree with you more about this whole thing.

I joined a few months back, because they said on the offical site that there would be something about early entry to the stadium dates, and nothing has been announced yet. I was so shocked about how it is very inactive and not updated very much. It was a waste of money, but i guess there are some upsides, even if i haven't seen them yet.

I am now beyond livid with the developments regarding the US shows on top of this just adding to my anger. If I don't get a sorry back I'll be handwriting a letter in June and somehow putting it in one of their hands at the shows. I will tear Warner apart until I get a sorry on principal.

Alan86 Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 I don't like the idiot club. I joined in December 09, I wish I hadn't. There is nothing there that would make me want to stay. As one of the biggest bands in the world their official fan club should be run a lot better.

netty Posted April 3, 2010 Posted April 3, 2010 a - the fanclub is not run by warner. b - did you try contacting the idiot club directly or contacting one of the mod team to help you? c - if you are not getting answers, is this possibly down to your email client classing the return addy as being spam? I ask that because of the multiple problems I have had brought to my notice with pre-sales codes. d- yeah.... the whole set up could be way better. I`m not going to argue that.
