Liam Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 i wanna know what every one first thought of green day when they first heard them. did you like them straight away, did you hate them but began to like them, or some thing else?
Opezi Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 well ahem the first song i heard of theirs was when i ocme around and the music video for that as well. i still remember when i was that little bout 8yrs old. i thought they sounded awesome and i thought billie was hott then i made my dad buy me one of their CD's. and he did <3
elisa Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I immediately loved them and asked my dad to get me all their albums lol
04rebhop Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I loved them straight away when i saw them i guess. I don't remember exactly what my first feelings were, as it was a while ago afterall.
Comedy & Tragedy Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I heard the song American Idiot, and since I was only 8, my reaction was sorta "Eww, rock band that my brother likes" I soon realized that they were the greatest band ever.
Guest Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I loved them, but I though they were goth (I was only 10/11)
minorityxdisturbed Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 When I first saw them was with Holidaay and I was scary of them becouse they were wearing dark clothes and doing strange things but at the same time I was thinking, this song rocks, I love what they said, but they are so mad, really I loved them, but I though they were goth (I was only 10/11) I thought the same I was about 13
simone18 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 i saw them in 2004 for the first time on tv (american idiot music video) and my first thought was oh god, they are really OLD but they ROCK, best music i´ve ever heard.
Guest Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I thought the same I was about 13 Well at least someone else did!
whizzingbullet Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I wasn't into music at all when I first heard them. There was this girl a year my senior I sort of idolized and then I saw her carrying around American Idiot. Just reading the lyrics of the songs blew me away, in a sort of horrified way, because I wasn't used to reading/saying/hearing swearwords then. After giving the CD a spin though, I absolutely loved it.
in_your_face Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 the first english song i ever heard was Boulevard Of Broken Dreams and American Idiot. i first thought they were good and later on, i began to hear more about them and collect some of their songs and soon, i began to love them!
minorityxdisturbed Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Well at least someone else did! Yeah! I think that I was the only one.
Katarina. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 OH MY FINK I LOVE THAT MUSIC, WHY DIDN'T I DISCOVER THEM EARLIER Yeah, that was it pretty much. It's been almost 5 years since I first heard them. It was the combination of amazing music/melody etc. and Billie's wonderful voice that made me fall in love with their music instantly. <3
petros Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 The first song I heard was wake me up when September ends and I wasn't that excited when I first heard it..then I heard it again and again and I felt in love with them!!
Guest x-Green Day-x Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I remember listening to them and thinking "Oh My God" I like immediately fell in love with them And I was like 10 at the time
Mrs.Kerplunk Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 the first time ive seen them on tv (AI video) i was like "eww. i dont like you. go away" i was 11 i didnt like any rock bands at this time
Just Kate Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 my first thought ever was: 'fuck they're germans. fuck them. they suck' really and honestly. there was time when i used to hate germany and stuff cos there were sooo many stupid german bands i was so fed up of and they seemed like another one (but i've loooooved germany for ages now, so it's nothing personal) and i really thought Green Day guys were german cos they sung 'don't want to be an american idiot'. that's my stupid way of thinking then... but when i realized they're americans, i started paying more attention to them and around Holiday they finally got me.
RobyRoom Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 The first song I've heard was Basket Case at school. And I thought that they were awesome, it was like 13 years ago
Perenpoep Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 It was totally different then everything I listened before. But it was awesome. And I thought "the singer" was fucking hot 8D
Diloss Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I heard it from a friend and I was like, Me:I like this music, who is singing this? He: Oh, that is Green Day, you don't know them? Me: Well, I do now. And that is how it begun.
Ila Reto Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 i remember the last 5 years like it was all in the past month. my best friend made me a CD with just holiday on it, because i was crazy about this rocker guy and she told me if i listened to green day it'd make me punk just like him lol so i sat down on my floor and put it in this huge boom box, and it was awesome! like the clouds had been lifted! i was 13 raised on girl pop bands and elvis, and thought this was just the coolest fucking thing! i spent months trying to hear it on the radio, so i heard BIAB about a month later. i knew two and a half songs, but by that time i had already discovered GDA, countless other fansites, and their hundreds of pictures on photobucket. i knew more facts about the band than many general fans did, and as i worked my way through their entire back catalogue i was finding out who i was with green day's guidance. and it's been a deep emotional attachment ever since <3
ANJI Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I hated them the first time I saw the American Idiot video...cos i thought they wore too much make-up...but at that time i used to hate rock music altogether. I used to like Busted then Ever since I heard BOBD, thats when i started loving Green Day and their music
Eeefaa. Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 american idiot video. my brother was like "wtf, these guys are wearing eyeliner. and they're melting a flag. weird." i kinda had to say: "yeah...." inside i was thinking "wow.... this is kinda cool... " then again, this could be my inner self twistingmy memory... i probably thought the same as him yet, from then on i kept telling people they were my favourite band, sort of a combination of not being able to forget the video and not knowing any other bands... weird...
