The more I think about it, yeah, this could actually be really cool for people that couldn't see it in Berkeley or Broadway. And I like Tom Hanks. I think it could be really good, if it's done right. I hope it happens.

I think this would be awesome! It's kind of like back when they were originally thinking of turning AI into a film.

Hmmm, very interesting. Hope to hear more about this. I think it's a good idea if done right, because it will give people who can't get to NYC to see the show a chance to 'see' it. And the world could use more Green Day. Something like this would really take them to a new level of amazing- how many bands can claim to have a musical and a movie based on their music? (All assuming this happens of course)

I agree. Green Day's great music is going to be reaching a lot of people who may have only heard the Green Day songs that are played on the radio. The musical, Green Day: Rockband, and this potential film, I think, are all great, creative ideas that are hopefully going to put Green Day in it's own category, like The Beatles. I really hope this film is made, especially with Tom Hanks involved. It could truly be an amazing film since it would be based off of such an awesome album. All we can do is hope it happens.

I didn't like the Whatshername in the JOS video. They made her seem like a hoe. Rebecca Jones is so much cooler and more powerful from what I've heard.

I think the characters have to seem relatable if it's going to be a movie, or it's going to flop.

This will still take YEARS of work, even if the rights are signed off this moment. The screenplay has to be written, the cast has casted, costuming, prop building, set construction, filming, editing, special effects and then release. Then of course you have to record the music, since it's hard to sing on a movie set while moving around. The last amazing musical movie I saw was RENT. (I hope that isn't a bad word in these hallowed halls)

I think I like the idea, but I don't like that Tom Hanks is the one who wants to turn it into a musical. I'd love a Tim Burton version of this, but this... Well, at least I'll finally get to see it.

And I thought people had gotten worn out on American Idiot in 2006.

The general public anyway. Geez, 5 years later and this album is still trying to conquer the world. :sherlock:

mmm I dont know, but sure as hell that I will see the movie if they release it. But seing the movie and then for nothing the actors start singing or shit like that, that dont convince me at all. The tale of AI have some potential to become a drama movie also.

If I wanna see that, I will go to see them in broadway. Mmm nevermind Im too far

Trying? It already has! People don't know it, but all the tracks say "THIS RECORD OWNS THE WORLD!" in a very low frecquency so you can't hear it ...

I should really stop drinking coffee .____________.

I know what you mean. The revival of the movie musical in the 2000's has been interesting and fun to a certain degree, but something usually seems to be missing from them that the stage provides, but a film lacks. Most of them are kind of cheesy when put on film in my opinion. :pinch:

I would LOVE to see the story turned into a drama though. It would have a lot of potential to be an actual good film if they did it right. Billie Joe should write the screenplay. :D

I love you THanks. That is all.

I'm not a movie-musical fan for the above listed reasons of it not being realistic, but I'm biased so I may enjoy this.

Green Day broadway musical

Green Day AI cast album

Green Day summer tour

Green Day Rock Band

Green Day heart like a hand grenade

Green Day New album

Green Day musical film

That is a lot of things to be linked with in the last few weeks and I'm probally after forgetting something too. It's getting hard to keep with everything these days.

I'm not complaining though, the more the better. There is surely going to be a concert DVD made too during the end of the 21stcb tour. :)

It's a wonderful idea.

I'm not sure if anyone would have the potential to execute it well.

If the potential film is anywhere near the caliber of the play, it will be extraordinary.
